Just a quick Author's note from me--
Hi!! Welcome to the fic! I've been doing my fair share of research into Ruby Rose fics, and discovered that there are almost no X Readers out there? No longer- for here I present my one, I hope you enjoy! Will be updated as frequently as possible!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You were just starting out university, at the bright and young age of 18.
Fresh faced you greeted your first day on campus, easily settling into your small dorm and meeting your only roommate, a girl of Nigerian descent called Efi.
Your dorm was cosy, but it was missing one essential thing, one of your favourite things too. Books.
Sure, it had a bed and your favourite clothes in the wardrobe, but it had none of those leather lined treasures.
As soon as Efi had mentioned a library, you were off, putting on a beanie due to the cold British autumn, and making your way across the campus to the library, which luckily was only a five minute walk across the plaza.
It was a massive library, god bless universities.
Your jaw dropped a slight and your lips slightly parted, eyes shining like jewels as you viewed the shelves, twice as tall as yourself, filled with books just waiting to have their spines cracked once more. ...wait, that sounds sinister.
Anyways, you got straight to business, and grabbed one or two books with titles you ignored, and sat down to read.
Titles weren't your thing. Why do we need to tag something? Tags are irrelevant. It's the context you need.
One book you had grabbed was non fiction, a psychology study guide.
Even if you weren't doing that class, it was hella interesting.
Did you know that the pupil can expand up to 50% when you look at someone you love?
Just as you read that sentence, a noise made you glance upwards, breaking your concentration and letting your eyes wander up, to the librarians desk, where a girl was standing.
Holy shit.
She was the equivalent of living artwork.
Her features seemed chiselled by a sculptor, her skin inked so colourfully that it seemed like a burst, a drastic contrast to the dullness of the book covers.
You couldn't help but stop and stare, her short hair also covered by a beanie, and a loose flannel framing her small body, leading down to jeans which you could assume were ripped, but she wasn't facing you.
You must have been entranced for a good while, since the girl turned around and that ended up snapping your focus again, as she picked up a book off the counter and read it silently while she leaned against the high desk.
Her eyes were so beautiful, it wasn't doing her justice just to call them beautiful, they shone even in dull light, and her jawline could cut you if you got too close.
What you'd pay to be sliced by the--
Stop.
She's just another student. Let her read in peace.
You were reluctant to look away, but you let yourself return to psychology, and sighed softly.
You couldn't help but look up after a while, to see if this wonder was still standing there.
You must have made it pretty obvious, since the girl was just leaving, and her glittering eyes caught yours, and her lips curved into a smile, almost a smirk tugging at the edges.
You didn't know what the hell just happened, but your cheeks had gone bright red, you could feel the heat coming off of them, so you dug your head down and faced the book, breathing a little heavier than usual.
