How to Design a Perfect Cover

Hey  everyone! I'm so glad to be here and show you some of my tips and  tricks on making covers, although I'm no professional, whatsoever. I  make simple/minimalist covers for fun in my free time, and I'll place  an image of some of my works below if any of you are interested :)

Although  a story's cover might not be the most important piece of a novel (you  know, with the whole 'don't judge a book by its cover' saying), it  actually plays a pretty big part! I hate to break it to you but, a lot  of us—if not—all of us, pretty much judges a book by its cover. Let's  face it! Not only does a well-made cover grabs your attention, it also  gives you little hints of the story before you can even scan the first  page. Let's put it this way: You wouldn't expect an adventure novel to  have a teen girl sitting in the middle of the flower field eating an ice  cream whilst gossiping with her friends, would you? Or would you expect  that story to be horror? Absolutely not! Right off the bat, you can  tell it's nothing dark, but rather uplifting and light, perhaps a teen  fiction? That'd make sense.
