The Journey

I gasped in shock, did Adam just say I was his?

His lips were just inches away from mines and I couldn't help but be drawn towards him, as though there was some sort of connection between us, some electric pull.

I know I  should of pulled away, I mean I was destined to be with the good prince for God's sake, but I just didn't have the strength to  do it, as much as I hated to admit it, I was weak whenever it came to Adam, he had some control over me, one that I could never understand or explain!

I closed my eyes and waited for what seemed like an eternity for Adam's lips to touch mines..and waited and waited!

Why wasn't he kissing me? I quickly opened my eyes to see him staring at me in shock, as though he was frozen on the spot!

"I can't do this!" he whispered more to himself than to me.

My eyes widened in surprise at his words, he couldn't kiss me?Why not? Was I that ugly to look at!

"I have to go now.." he continued and before I had a chance to respond to his words , he left with inhuman speed.

Adam didn't think I was beautiful? He chose not too kiss me?Did he hate me that much, was it Zilda he wanted?

I tried hard to hold back the tears that threatened to leave my eyes but couldn't help it, before I knew it I was lying on my bed , hugging my pillow and crying myself to sleep.

"Wake up sleepy head!"

I threw my pillow at the person who was trying to disturb my sleep..Who else but Lorna would do something like wake me up when I was sleeping!

Wait!Lorna?Was she back already?I quickly opened my eyes to find Lorna standing at the edge of my bed with the pillow I threw at her in her hands.

"Oops, sorry!" I said with a giggle.

"Krysta if I'm not here to wake you up from your sleep would you ever get up?"

"Whatever happened to I'm happy to see you !"I replied dryly.

"Its hasn't even been a day Krysta, I doubt you missed me for you were asleep the whole time I was gone"Lorna teased.

"Haha, very funny, but what are you doing back so early?" I asked looking at her curiously as I scrambled out from the bed ..

"I have great news, I couldn't wait to tell you !"

"Well tell me!"I said impatiently.

"We know where the special crown is!"

What? She knew where the crown was?I couldn't stop the joy that overcame me with that news, before I knew it Lorna and I were jumping around and screaming like we were crazy!

"I can't believe it! But where is it?Isn't it in this castle?"

"That's the problem, this is where the bad news starts,it turns out it isn't in this palace but in King Richard's palace!"Lorna said sadly.

"That is horrible news!How are we supposed to get there?He would never allow us to search the palace if he knew it would help us find the crown! What will we do?"I asked looking at Lorna as if she would have the answer to our problem.

"I have come up with a plan, it isn't  all that good  but it is the best we have so far, now don't freak out on me but it involves you going to the palace disguised as a maid!"

Did I just hear right?

"Are you okay?Did you suddenly fall sick? I can't act as a maid! You also seem to be forgetting that the king and his sons have already seen me, they would know who I am!"I exclaimed looking at her as if she were mad.

"I have already planned that, I've mixed a potion with the help of the Prince and it would change your appearance for one week, you only have to be there for one week Krysta!"

I was already shaking my head, there was no way I was doing something as stupid as this!

"Please Krysta!Its our only hope!"Lorna begged, looking at me with a sad expression on her face.

"Fine, get my stuff ready, I'll do it!"I said assuring her.

Without warning Lorna was hugging me and thanking me.

"You're choking me!" I teased her and she rolled her eyes at me but smiled warmly.

I was going to king Richard's palace, I would be seeing Adam everyday for an entire week!Suddenly this trip didn't seem so bad after all but then I remembered how he had refused to kiss me and I felt my eyes watering again! What was wrong with me?I shouldn't care if he didn't want to kiss me! Right?
