Chapter 6

               Hey Everyone Enjoy!!!!

She once read in a book by Amanda Grace that, "... even when I stop crying, even when we fall asleep and I'm nestled in his arms, this will leave another scar. No one will see it. No one will know. But it will be there. And eventually all of the scars will have scars, and that's all I'll be--one big scar of a love gone wrong. She never thought that her life would turn out the same way, but I guess you can say that life is a game. You either win or lose. She lost.

Looking at the mirror, the dress was perfect. It flowed down body as if it had been made for her. Its satin folds hugged her figure, following her curves, and the deep blue was gorgeous against her ivory skin. Its plunging neckline suited her perfectly. A white diamond mask hid her face, but not her beauty. She was stunning.

A knock on the door brought her back to reality. In walked the devil himself.

"Are you ready, Baby?" he asked.

"Don't call me that, Max."

He put his arms around her waist and his other hand on her chin, making her look at him. "I expect you to behave yourself, Alexis, or there will be consequences, do you understand?" he said.

As she nodded, he grabbed her arm and pulled her to the car. They drove to the ball.

"I hope my plan will work," she whispered to herself.

"What did you say?"

"Nothing."

He parked the car in front of a mansion, the front door wide open. Climbing out of the car, they stepped into the hall. The mansion was beautifully decorated with traditional Christmas trees. Upon arriving, much-needed hugs and kisses were exchanged. The guests were invited to the ballroom, chandeliers glowed, music claimed the air, and everyone sparkled with the joy of the season.

Walking around, Max and Alexis were greeted by familiar faces. She started shaking slightly as they started walking toward a man and woman; she figured they must be Mr. and Mrs. Anderson.

"Mr. Parker. How are you? And who is this lovely lady?" Mr. Anderson said.

"Mr. and Mrs. Anderson, this is my wife, Alexis. Lexi, this is my boss, Peter, and his wife, Chloe," Adrian—or should I say Max—said.

Alexis shook their hands and said hello and then they excused themselves. Adrian, or rather Max, went to get them drinks. As Alexis began taking smooth steps across the dance floor. she had the feeling that someone was watching her.

Cole Looked around the ball room, his eyes searching for a figure; the room was full of rich people who wouldn't have spared a glance if they knew who was behind the mask.

The rich people who passed him had smiled at him ,trying to figure out who was the dashing young figure. Many girls had him before but much to their shock, Cole turned away, he was interested in one person.

He couldn't find the right words to describe her. She was the most beautiful girl he had seen tonight. There was a white mask covering her face which made me more intrigued, her blonde curls were liked waved flowing down her shoulders, the ball gown framed her figure perfectly, the beautiful girl tore her gaze from the floor and she was looking at him.

Her Blue eyes were staring into his eyes, her eyes widened the moment they made eye contact. Before I knew it, she glanced away from me and I found myself wondering what just happened My Heart was pounding so loudly in my chest and goose bumps had begun to spread over my body.

As he saw another figure approach her with a drink, when that figure removed her mask and kissed her by force, He should have known who that was for she owns his heart.
