Roses wedding eve

I woke early, checked my clock to see it was 8am.

May 12th 1800.

The day I am to be married. It's the 11th today, so I have one last day, in which I spent the day with sisters and friends.

I was with my two sisters, a childhood friend called Lucy, and Angie, who begged to be invited.

We went to see a play, Romeo and Juliet, my favourite Shakespeare play. We all left with teary eyes, yet we went home for supper in a joyous fashion.

When we arrived home I was greeted at the door by relatives who were attending the wedding, and the Hamiltons (not including Phillip of course.) they handed me gifts, some big some small, that were to be moved to our new home downtown.

We sat down to a meal, however I could hardly eat a bit for I was so excited. I gulped down glass upon glass of champagne however, eventually Elizabeth had to pull me away.

"I luv you lizzyyy."
"Come on Rose, bedtime."
"I want phillllyyy."
"Phillip?"
"My babyyyyy. He so cute I just want to squeeze him."
"Well he'll be yours this time tomorrow."
"Yayyyyyyy!"
"Come on let's get you into bed."
She helped me get changed into my night gown and then tucked me in.

"Good night darling rose, I'll see you in the morning."
"Nighty night."
I giggled and she kissed my forehead and I fell asleep.

I woke in the middle of the night with a splitting head ache and no memory of anything after dinner. I fell back asleep and didn't wake again till morning.
