Just as I got comfortable on the couch, I was watching some movie absent-mindedly until I heard my doorbell ring. Then Tia, Marcus, and Candice came and sat on the couch. Marcus grabbed the remote and began to flip channels. I didn't care though because I had no idea of what I was watching anyway. I got up and opened the door without looking to see who it was.

"How come you not answering my calls and texts?" That's this chick Brandi that I stopped dealing with about four months ago just because I felt she was getting too clingy.

"How did you find out where I lived?"

"You know what? That's irrelevant as of right now because we got stuff to talk about. I went through hell trying to figure out where you lived because you weren't answering me."

"Well why didn't you take a hint?" I asked a little harshly but my situation with Kim left a bitter taste in my mouth so I really didn't care if I hurt Brandi's feelings.

"Look, I don't need your smart ass remarks but this situation I have, regards you, asshole. Now can I come in because it's cold out here and we need to talk in private."

I scratched my head wondering what could be so damn important but I let her in anyway. Everybody's eyes were on us, even my mom's and she looked disappointed and confused. I gave her a look telling her that I was just as confused as she was. Unfortunately I still had to see what was going on so I lead her up to my bedroom and closed the door behind us.

"Okay, what's so important?" I said, just wanting to hurry and leave.

"I'm not about to beat around the bush, I been trying to get a hold of you because I'm pregnant with your child."

"You lying," I whispered, not believing that I was hearing correctly.

Then Brandi aggressively yanked off her jacket and sure enough she had a visible baby bump.

"What do I have to lie for?"

"H-how do you know it's mine?" I was lost for words.

She stared me dead in the eye then she took a seat on my recliner.

"We may not have been serious but I'm not a hoe. I only been dealing with you since we met."

I wanted to have a seat on my bed but I froze. If this child was mine, I was going to be a father. I wasn't ready for all that. But just for me thinking about me not being ready, I applied this same advice from my mother from this situation. It no longer mattered if I was ready or not. I'm just  worried about Kim. If I have any chance with her at all, those chances would now be strained once I tell her.

"How far along are you?" I finally asked plopping down on my bed.

"Twenty and a half weeks."

"So what do you want to do from here?"

She looked at me suspiciously, "What do you mean?"

"Well, I mean planning wise. What do you want to do?"

"Well the week after next I find out what I'm having and then from there I want to start putting a room together."

"You want me to go with you to the doctor's appointment?" I asked.

"I'm not going to force you to go? It's your choice."

"I'll pick you up and well go together. Just let me know where and when."
