🚨 Contains Rape 🚨

Today was hotter than normal, as the temperature was at 103 degrees.

The sun was out in full blaze and the heat wave was everywhere, leaving no one spared.

Delia was ordered to stand and fan master Bradford to keep him cool. "Put some more water in here." He said pushing the glass on the desk towards her

"Yes sir." She said as she put the fan down and went over to the small table that she set the tray of water and bucket of ice down

She scooped up the ice and put it into the glass, then refilled the glass with water.

He got up from behind his desk and rolled up his shirt sleeves and unbuttoned the top two buttons of his shirt as sweat was dripping down the back of his neck as he stopped by the window to look outside

She gave him the glass of water as he began to drink and look out the window. "Who is this nigger boy you keep talking to?" He asked as the ice clinked around in the glass each time he took a sip

"His names Coleman and we talk sometime, but I promise we work."

"Hm, and have you ever had sex with him?"

"No sir."

"Good." He said taking a sip. "And what do you two talk about?"

"Any and everything."

"What kind of things? Do one of those things include talking about freedom, do it?" He asked with a stern look as he approached her

"No, no sir. We talk about nature and the world, and our purpose for being here."

"Well, there will be no more talking because I forbid you from speaking to him again. I don't want him giving you any bright ideas about leaving, because there's absolutely no chance of you ever going anywhere.
I let you off easy for reading and writing, but I won't allow you the chance to teach it to him. I don't want you around him, is that understood?"

"Yes sir." She said sadly with her head down as he sat down in the arm chair

"Good." He said as she continued to fan him while a stinging pain settled in the back of her throat as she tried to keep herself from crying

It's been two days now that Delia has been purposely avoiding Coleman and each time she does, she wants to breakdown crying.

She didn't want to hurt him or make him feel like that she didn't want to be bothered because she did want to talk with him every chance she got, but now she can't.

"Hey, Delia!" He said catching up to her as her short legs weren't fast enough to out walk his long strides
"I been tryna catch you for two days. But each time, you runs off."

"I'm sorry." She said quietly

"That's nothin to be sorry bout. I see you be quite busy, you got some time?"

Tears began to well up in her eyes, "I'm sorry, Coleman. Masta said I couldn't talk to you no more." She said as her tears fell
