Chapter Ten

Eight Months Later

Darkness POV
I woke up in my bed to Liu's arms around my waist. I heard his steady breathing and relaxed into his warmth. It had been eight months since the battle.

Liu and I moved into the city away from everyone else. Two months ago we found out I was pregnant. Yesterday he proposed. The ring is a sparkling blue sapphire on a diamond band. It has ' I'm his ' engraved on it. I haven't taken it off since I put it on. Its truly beautiful.

I felt gentle lips press against my neck. I giggled. "Good morning beautiful." Liu spoke in his morning voice. It was low and sweet. "Good Morning handsome." I said sweetly and got out of the blanket and his arms. I walked to the bathroom in my tank top and shorts and brushed my hair.

In our bathroom there was two joint sinks and a bath and a shower. They were in two different spots. I was on my side which was packed with lady things and his side had barely anything. I sighed. Boys have it easy.

I finished brushing my relatively short hair. I had to cut my hair because it got too long and was bothering me. So now it is basically shoulder length. Liu then walked in and wrapped his arms around my waist again. "Come back to bed babe." He said tiredly. I giggled. "Can't. I have to leave for a girls day remember? I told you last week." I said. He groaned. "You mister have to get with Jeff today too. You guys are going bowling with Tim." I reminded him. He groaned again and walked to his side of the sink. He splashed water on his scarred face. I smiled. I put my hair in a bun and walked to the kitchen. "Can you make some coffee babe?" I heard him yell. "Sure honey!" I yelled back. I walked to the coffee maker and started it up. Then I turned on the TV in the dining area and begun cooking some eggs.

Murder Victims Identified.
Hello my name is Sarah and we just got Intel from a source that two murder victims have been identified. As you may know, on this day eight months ago we found a total of 127 dead bodies in a forest burned to a crisp. Two of those bodies have been identified. Toby and Tina had no last names in our database but we assume that they were married. Authorities are still working on the others to this day. And now for the weather. Tim what do you have for us?"

I almost dropped the now cooked scrambled eggs when I heard their names. Liu came in and grabbed the eggs and set them on the counter after turning off the TV. He grabbed my shoulder and asked "Are you okay baby?" I sighed. "Yeah. I just miss them you know?" I replied softly. He nodded and hugged me. I hugged back and then let go. "Now, can you grab the plates? I'll get the rest babe." I told him. He nodded and smiled before disappearing behind me. He reappeared with two plates and put them next to the pan on the counter.

I scooped some eggs on each plate and used a spell to cook bacon in a second and added that to the plates as well. I used my tentacles to hold the plates as I made his coffee and put that into his cup. I made myself some tea in our Keurig. I used to make coffee in it but coffee got expensive so we just bought in large cans for a normal coffee maker.
With both cups in both hands and both plates on tentacles I walked to the dining room and set it all down. I sat down and turned on the TV again and changed it to a weather ONLY channel. It was going to be sunny all day today. Great.

Then Liu came in in a red flannel and some blue jeans. He had on the black converse I got him for his birthday too. His hair was tamed and he had on one of the necklaces given to us by my father.

These necklaces made us look like normal human beings. Mine gave me a face and normal pale skin while his covered his scars.

He sat down and ate with me in a comfortable silence. I finished first and placed it in the sink and then went back to the bedroom. I looked through my closet and chose a black dress and some sandals. I placed the necklace on and looked in the mirror. My eyes were a bright sapphire blue and my lips were rosy red. My nose was perfect in peoples standards, and my skin went darker but was still pale. I used eye-shadow to give my self a smokey eye and put on some ChapStick. I breathed in and out before placing my sunglasses on and walking to the living room.

"I'm heading out babe, do you need a ride?" I asked. He stood and hugged me giving me a peck on the cheek. "No I don't need a ride Jeff's picking me up. Be safe okay? I love you babe." He told me. "I love you too baby." I kissed his cheek like he did mine and walked out into the sunny day. I pulled my keys out of my purse that I grabbed on the way out. I clicked the unlock button and heard my car let out a beep noise. I followed the noise and opened the door to my Dodge pick up truck. It was big enough that it had a roomy backseat and front seat. I stepped inside and closed the door putting the keys into the ignition.

I fixed my mirrors and pulled out of the driveway and headed to the Cafe where I would meet Shadow and Missy.
