John was gone for most of the day. He was weighted with a huge question and didn't know what to do. He knew that Oliver would be okay with him turning into a vampire, but he wasn't ready to even think about it.
"Vinny, can you help me lift this?" Oliver asked as the vampire looked up from where he was sitting. His soulmate had rolled a huge ball in the snow and needed help with putting it on the first one. He walked over after watching him struggle. He put his arms around it and lifted it like it wasn't even heavy and placed it where he wanted it to go. Oliver watched him with raised eyebrows. He tried not to obviously check him out.
"This doesn't mean you're stronger than me," He grinned before starting to roll another ball. Vinny scoffed and sat back down on the bench.
"I'm pretty sure it does."
Oliver shook his head.
"Hmmm, no." He knew fine well his strength was non-existent compared to Vinny's who released a low chuckle. The hairs on Oliver's neck stood up, finding that rather attractive.
"Yes."
Oliver could see the amusement in his eyes.
"You wanna bet on that?" He asked and continued to roll the snow. Vinny smiled, he loved his cheeky attitude.
"Yes, actually," He watched him bite his bottom lip.
"Well... Actually, I-"
"I'm stronger than you." He showed a little smirk.
"Nope," Oliver finished making another huge ball with the snow. Vinny rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. He watched him struggle to pick it up again and tried not to smile. "Um, Vinny... Can you help me?"
"No."
"Please?"
"You shouldn't need help with that, not if you're so strong."
Oliver chuckled and walked over.
They both stared at each other before the vampire suddenly grabbed him and pulled him over the side of the bench. Oliver gasped and tried getting out of his grip. Vinny leant over him and pushed him down so he was laying on his back.
"You're so strong." His voice leaked sarcasm.
"I'm letting you win." Oliver grabbed Vinny's head and trapped him in a headlock. He chuckled into Oliver's chest but lifted him up and dropped him into the snow. However, Oliver didn't let go, making Vinny fall on top of him. He rolled over and pinned him to the floor.
A few more moments went by of the vampire pretending he was trapped until Oliver sat up. His legs were on either side of Vinny's waist who watched the blush rise to Oliver's cheeks as he very slowly rested his hands on his thighs. His jeans were cold and it made Vinny crave the warm touch of his skin, but thoughts of needing blood flooded his mind.
He couldn't wait until Tuesday was over.
He stared at his soulmate for a while longer before pushing him over. They both stood up and brushed the snow from their coats.
"Okay, can you help me now?" Oliver asked.
Sure." Vinny went over and lifted the big snowball, he placed it on top of the others. "That's a big snowman." Vinny realised it was the same height as him and the head wasn't even on yet.
"Yeah, I might need help putting the head on," Oliver looked around for potential tree branches for arms.
Vinny then watched him roll a smaller ball and only just manage to pick it up. He walked behind him and put his hands underneath his armpits.
"Ready?" He asked.
"Yeah." Oliver was struggling to hold his huge snowball.
Vinny effortlessly picked him up as his soulmate quickly put the head on. It was now higher than them both as they stepped back to look at it. He hasn't made a snowman in years.
"Oliver!" They both suddenly heard someone shout as they turned around. Duke was leaning out of the dining-room window. "Your dad is home."
"Would you like to talk to him?" Vinny asked.
"Yeah, I'll see if he has made a decision," Oliver stepped closer and slowly took his hand. His heart skipped a beat and his cheeks heated up. Vinny's heart thumped as he followed him back inside.
They both took off their coats and boots and Vinny took Oliver's winter gear.
"I'll put them in the cloakroom, so you can talk with your dad."
"Okay, thank's." Oliver turned to see his dad sitting on the couch. As Vinny walked out the dining-room, he went and sat next to him. "Hey, dad."
John beamed and gave him a hug.
"Hey Ollie, how has your day been?"
"Good," He smiled before twiddling his thumbs around each other. "So um, have you made a decision?" It must be hard for John to have such a big choice.
"Well, what do you think I should do?" He asked with questioning eyes. He was sick of not being able to make up his mind.
"Don't ask me that," Oliver wanted it to be his dad's own decision and not because of what his son wanted. "But, if I was in your shoes, I would take the opportunity."
John nodded slowly.
"I'll think about it for a little longer. Maybe when everything has settled down I can think about it more clearly."
"Good idea, I don't want you to make a rushed decision." Oliver smiled.
They both sat for a moment as their gaze wandered around the dining-room.
"Where's your bedroom? Is it big?" Oliver asked when he realised he had no idea where his dad slept.
"It's on the second floor. I can't tell you where because I have no idea, I keep having to ask for help. And it's huge!" John chuckled.
"I don't think I've come across a small room in this place," Oliver let out a big breath. It was nice to just relax his mind for a second.
"And your room, is it big? Wait, do you share with Vinny?" John asked.
"Yeah, I'm staying in Vinny's room and it is massive." So far, he has loved waking up in that room. Already, it felt very homely.
"And... you share the same bed?" John asked innocently.
"Yes," Oliver looked up to him. John didn't want to embarrass him so he just nodded and smiled.
"Do you miss our old home yet?"
"No," Oliver said truthfully. "I'm surprised, but I don't. Do you?"
"Nope. Not when I can call this my home instead," John chuckled.
"It is amazing." Oliver sighed happily. His life was taking an interesting turn, but the past few days have been the happiest he has experienced in a long time.
Just then, Vinny re-entered the dining-room. But he looked a little rushed. He walked over to Oliver and quickly sat next to him.
"Are you okay?" He asked as Vinny looked towards the door.
"My sister has just arrived. I want to tell you both in advance that she's not the nicest of Vampires. So don't be surprised if she's rude to you, she's not one to get along with humans."
They both nodded. Oliver has never seen his sister in person before.
"And, I don't know how she'll react to you being my soulmate," He added, just as the grand door opened.
Oliver turned to see a woman in her early twenties, coming into the room. She was followed by a man, who also looked in his early twenties too. He recognised the woman as Vinny's sister when he realised he has seen her in family portraits around the mansion.
"Scarlet! You didn't tell us you were Visiting!" They heard Madison say excitedly as she quickly walked over and pulled her daughter into a big hug.
Vinny stood up as Oliver and John did the same. He wasn't sure if he was happy about her visiting or if he was dreading it.
