I really hoped that the ride home wouldn't feel like an eternity.
It had only been a minute or two after Jungkook started the car but I just felt really awkward.
I wanted to distract myself from the dead silence between us so I started to constantly check my phone for notifications. I even started to chip off the nail polish from my nails too.
It was getting dark and the temperature was slowly dropping. I felt goose bumps rising and shivered.
Jungkook reached over to the buttons on the car and clicked on one to turn on the heater. When he was done adjusting the temperature, his hand went back to the steering wheel.
I saw everything from the corner of my left eye and oogled at his hands and arms. His veins were pretty evident and it brought out such a manly side of him.
Damn, he is just-
"Is it still cold? You can adjust the temperature, if you want too," Jungkook spoke up.
I only nodded at him and gave him a thin smile before turning to look out the window.
Oh boy, I hope this would just end fast.
--------------------------------------------------------
When we finally arrived at the house, he parked in the driveway but did not turn off the engine. Jungkook looked at me and cocked an eyebrow. "Aren't you going to get out?"
Ouch.
"W-what?" I stuttered.
"I asked if you were going to get out? I have to stop by somewhere, so you'll be home by yourself," he shrugged.
How cold.
"Oh. Okay," I nodded and unbuckled my seatbelt. I let the seatbelt recoil back to its original position and gave him one last look before getting out.
His fingers repeatedly tapped the steering wheel as I grabbed all my belongings and the food from Jin. When I shut the car door, he nodded at me to go in. I nodded back and gave him a small wave.
When I reached the door, I shuffled through my bag for my keys but failed miserably to do so. Oh shit, I think I left them in the house earlier. Ugh I'm not even sure right now. I guess I struggled too long that Jungkook came out of his car and told me to step aside.
"You're still clumsy and forgetful," he chuckled.
He waited for me to step aside, in which I quickly did, and his hand went into the front right pocket of his jeans to fish out for his spare of keys. After a couple of seconds, he brought them out and they made small clinking sounds.
It didn't take forever to open the door, and once he did, Jungkook watched me go in.
"Thank you," I managed to get out.
Jungkook gave me a small smile, but it was kind of sad.
I went into the kitchen and put the food in the fridge. Then I headed upstairs to my room and tried not to think about Jungkook, but it's hard not to when you're wondering why he's staying at his noona's house tonight.
I grabbed one of the pillows beside me and groaned.
I'm such a mess.
***********JUNGKOOK's POV************
I watched _____ as she walked upstairs after opening the door for her. I wonder if she cares if I decided to stay somewhere else tonight.
But it's not like she actually would, anyways.
