"Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you."
― Friedrich Nietzsche

Albus Dumbledore gripped the photograph with tight, trembling fingers. In the photograph, a young man with green eyes and tousled hair was seen talking to a girl with blonde hair and startling grey eyes, an adoring expression carved on his face.

The young man was called Percy Jackson.

And as Albus found out recently, he was the grandchild of Lord Voldemort, and the son of a god.

It came as a huge shock and surprise when this information was unveiled, after Albus had took a casual glance at the family tapestry that laid on the walls of Gaunt Shack when he visited that summer to steal the ring horcrux. And when he traced the line down that connected Tom Marvolo Riddle with a daughter named Sally Jackson-Riddle, his heart stuttered to a brief stop. Clearly, she was born out of wedlock, for the tapestry neglected to acknowledge the woman who sired her.

Albus vaguely remembered a Sally Jackson-Riddle a few decades back, a quiet Ravenclaw who blended so well into the background that Albus almost forgot that there was such a student. Back then, he had simply mused to himself that perhaps Riddle was a fairly common surname after all, for a muggleborn girl of the name Sally had a part of it in her name. That was the only reason he had a vague recollection of that girl.

After doing some investigation on his part, the trail led him all the way to New York, where to his surprise, he discovered another who had the Riddle lineage running through his veins. Said boy was already innately powerful with a strong but unused magical core, and further coupled with the fact that his father was a god-

Albus collapsed into his chair. New York was beyond his turf, beyond his control. And he needed to get ahold of this aberrant, this chess piece that could turn the tide in the approaching war.

He needed to get Percy Jackson under his control, somewhere he could keep a close watch on.

And so Albus Dumbledore schemed, and waited for the right opportunity to show up.

The Giant War was finally over- much to the relief of the demigods and gods. There were innumerable casualties and injuries from the war, but the relief was the strongest feeling that day.

The war, just like the prior war, had been won by the great hero, Percy Jackson. He had been the one to deliver the final blow which had saved the world from being doomed to an abhorrent fate.

In the aftermath, The Seven- alongside with the demigods who had played a vital role in the war- had been summoned to Olympus that day to be rewarded for their bravery and bloodshed.

All, except one Hero.

And that's where the story begins.

uwu background info, Voldemort had an illegitimate child that he didn't know of, for the one-night stand he had with the woman who bore Sally eventually left her on the steps of an orphanage. A couple of the surname Jackson later adopted the young child and raised her as the woman we all know as Sally Jackson.
