Brody’s POV
I fell on the bed on my back, sighing and trying to take in what happened today. Sure Briley told me to fuck off and I of course got mad, but we were in the heat of the moment. That’s not what’s bothering me. Gabriel is the reason I’m so pissed off. After Dylan hauled Briley away, Gabriel told me something that’s still echoing in my head now. Hours later.
‘I’m going to make you hurt so bad you’ll want to kill yourself Nelson, I stand by that promise. I’ll make Briley break your heart; it won’t be hard from what I’ve heard. He’s a little slut.’
I yelled and punched the wall, not caring about the pain shooting up my arm. How can I live with such a…a…there aren’t any words to describe him only a name; Adam. He’s just like Adam, only smarter, more cunning and; he lives with me. And I have no doubt in my mind that Tyler guy is in on all this, that’s why he’s so nice to Briley. He’s trying to befriend him to get to him, he’s the bait isn’t he Gabriel? That boy toy football player is the one Briley will go for; at least, that’s what you think.
He doesn’t know how much Briley and I love each other, he doesn’t know what we’ve been through. This is just another bump in the road, one we can easily conquer.
Briley’s POV
Tyler and I walked for a while, it was starting to get dark already so I made sure to stay close to him; I have no idea what it’s like around here. I’m too cute for any madman to resist. The fresh air was helping me forget about what Brody did to me; I know I hurt him but I did worse things in the past. Oh I can’t use that as an excuse, what I did was wrong, I lost control and hurt his feelings. I shouldn’t have gone with Tyler to this party; I should’ve stayed at the dorm and waited for Brody to cool down. Then again, it’s been hours since that’s happened. It may take him longer than a night to get it out of his system. Some time alone might do him good, he asked for it after all.
“You’ve drank before right Briley?” Tyler asked, slipping his hands in his pockets. I did the same and recalled the first and last time I drank. That was horrible; I’ve never felt so sick in my life but…while I was drunk I had a good time. Until I attacked that guy…that wasn’t smart.
“Once, and…it wasn’t pretty. I attacked some guy who was like twice my size. Then got a killer hangover…” I placed a hand on my forehead in remembrance.
“Oh well then I guess I should keep you away from the booze then hey?” He grinned at me and I blinked.
“Hell no! Just make sure I don’t get into a fight, you’ll do that right? You’ll protect me?” I looked up at him, eyes watering and mouth curved into an odd but cute half pout half smile. He rolled his eyes with a smile and ruffled my hair. “Not the hair!” I fixed it; oh god I sounded like Zoey.
