Ice Cream

"So," Dazai sighed, peering into the ice cream shop. "What flavour do you think i should get?"
"A sorbet."
Dazai groaned. "But that's so boooring."
Chuuya turned to him with the stern gaze a mother might give her child. "You can't have anything too sugary after your operation. Unless of course you want to go back."
"Maybe I do. The nurses cook better than you."
Chuuya gave him a playful punch in the shoulder and a small smile. "Bastard."

"Ugh, sorbet is so tasteless."
"Hey, i had one too so you wouldn't feel bad. Quit complaining."
Dazai smiled and draped himself over Chuuya.
"What did I do to deserve you?"
"You don't, mackerel."
"Sh, slug. I wanna sleep."
Chuuya immediately got up and put a blanket over Dazai. After the operation he was easily soporific, so he didn't want to get in the way of his well needed rest.
Chuuya still couldn't believe what Dazai did to save him.
He almost payed for it with his life.
Chuuya ruffled his hair and switched off the light, but not after giving him a hug and a few words.
"What did I do to deserve you?"
