"Lili, escúchame!"
The young girl's eyes went wide as she looked at her mother's worried ones. The mother wanting the girl to listen, picked her up and steadied her on her hip; ran down the stairs to the basement and closed the door shut.

"¿Que pasa mamá?"

"You have to promise me no matter what you hear you won't look!"
Liliana wiping her mother's tears away she rapidly nodded, smudging the woman's mascara down. "Prométemelo."

Putting the young girl down she moved a small wooden coffee table from the middle, visibly a small inverted hole was seen in the process.

"Get in."

"B—but why?"

"Liliana for once just listen."

The girl shaking obeyed.

Why was I hiding?
Why was mamá crying?

Thoughts clouded Liliana as she lied inside the small space her sight becoming darker as the woman placed the wooden coffee table upon her. The sound of tires screeching alerted both of them, the women standing up on her tiptoes to see through the small window. Gasping she moved back, "I love you, don't you ever forget that. Remember what we learned."

Leaving the trembling girl alone she opened the door to go upstairs.
"Whatever you hear don't move, don't make a sound."
With that they parted ways, the woman walked up the stairs, carefully wiping any excess of the mascara and put on a small smile. Wincing as she heard the glass door shatter.

"Emília, ¿que pasó?"
The man asked with a visible smirk on his face. "Why haven't you answered the phone?"

"How did you find me?"

"We've always known where you were and with who you were and come on! Your question offends me, have you forgotten what I am?"

"Where is she?"
The man continued.

"No."

"Where is Liliana?"

The girl took in a breather, confused as she heard her name. She was an excellent listener, she remembered her time with Emília, they would always play a game where Liliana had to cover her eyes with a black scarf and look for her mother and she could only use her ears to guide her. Almost like hide and seek.

"He will not have her, he will ruin her!"
Emília protested.

"Give me the girl."
He gritted through his teeth slowly backing her up against the wall.

"No!"
She spat on his face, trying to run the other way. Being unsuccessful she was pulled back by her hair and thrown at the glass table shattering as her weight collided with it. Glass ripping through her skin, she secretly gripped a sharp one and painfully stood up. Her knees bucking in as the man with inhumanly possible speed towards her and gripped her neck.

"Tell me where she is."

Being as quickly as she could she brought the glass forward and stabbed him on the side of his neck.
"Nunca! Nunca Narciso, primero muerta!"

Using his loss of focus she ran down the hall reaching for the front entrance but was shoved down the stairs to the basement.
"No te preocupes, eso pasará muy pronto, perra!"

She crawled forward stopping as she saw the small girl looking through the small opening from the coffee table and the ground with glossy eyes, her small hands clutching her mouth to stop her from making any noise.
"Narciso, please!"
She turned to look at him begging him. She didn't want to die there, she couldn't let Liliana see this. Emília weakly crawled to the exit only to be pulled back by her legs, crying as the shards of glass penetrated more her skin. Narciso immediately pounced on her, fangs out, and bit down her neck; over and over again. Small chunks of her flesh falling down at the ground, blood rapidly pouring out of the macabre injuries.

Liliana watched in shock, she couldn't move and no matter how hard she tries to scream nothing came out. All she could do was watch Emília's trembling body die down, the shine in her wide eyes diminish.

Narciso chuckled watching as Emília's head finally losing support fell to the floor with a soft smack.

The ringing of a phone bringing him of his high.
"No, the girl wasn't here. Only Emília but I already took care of her. I'll see you soon."

Hanging up he left, the sound of a car driving away, only then did Liliana cry. Only then did she push the table that was covering her and ran to Emília.

"Mamá!"

"Mamá! Please don't leave me!"

Clutching on to her mother's body she cried in anguish, blood seeping, staining her clothes.

"Please!"
