I had everything I needed.
Then you left, even though I pleaded..
I wish you were around, to stop my frown..
maybe turn it upside down?
I know it's childish, hoping for make believe..
But I didn't need any boundaries with you here by me.
I tried to forget you, and all that you've done.
I've tried to replace you, tried to have some fun.
But the days were dreary, weeks grown long..
Life felt meaningless without your happy song.
I know these rhymes won't bring you back, but wishing and hoping won't make me as sad.
Poems are sweet, though last a short while..
Oh what I'd give for just... one.. smile..
The readers won't get it, won't know what I'm on about..
But I'll remember, there's no doubt.
I tried to get you back, my dear old self..
But your in the past collecting dust on the shelf...
