Remy hummed as he got ready to go out. He took extra care of himself this time because it has been three weeks since they didn't spend time together. He made sure that his whiskers were straight, his body was spotless, and smelled like soap he used to take his morning bath. In a different place, Git was also humming as he was getting prepared. Usually, he just meets him without taking care of himself, but just for this special occasion, he thoroughly examined himself and rubbed lavender around his neck. Good enough. They thought as they looked at their reflections and made sure that they were wearing their ring. Remy was excited since it was the first time Git came to pick him up. He patiently waited outside the door even though it was like 9:25 when he exited the house. But Git came around 9:30. They were excited to see each other. As soon as they saw each other, they ran towards each other and hugged.

"Are you ready?" Git asked mellowly.

"Mm-hmm," Remy said in agreement. Then they exited the apartment. "I know where to go," Remy said as he pointed to the direction of where they needed to go. They had their fingers locked as they walked towards the grate.

"You really did your research," Git said as they walked through the grate. Remy smiled.

"I really wanted to go there after all," Remy replied.

"More than Eiffel Tower?" Git asked.

"Well, Eiffel Tower was the place I wanted to visit the most," Remy replied,"but we already went there and I read about Notre Dame and I wanted to go there."

"I see," Git said as he laughed slightly. Then he said, "You know, thinking about it, I think Eiffel Tower is the farthest place we've been so far." Remy thought for a moment.

"I think that's true," Remy said as he thought about the distance of walking there. Sure it may have been a long walk, but it was definitely worth walking there. Though Remy noticed the scent earlier, he decided to mention it now. "Git, did you rub lavender on your neck?" Git didn't say anything. He just slightly cleared his throat. Remy slightly snickered and shook his head. So adorable. Remy thought as he looked at Git, who was blushing and looking at the empty spaces in the grate, trying to avoid Remy's eye contact.

Although the rest of the journey was a quiet walk, it was a different kind of quiet. "Well, we have reached our destination," Remy said as he climbed out the grate quickly. Git climbed out after him. As soon as he exited the grate, his jaws dropped as he saw the cathedral standing tall and proud in front of Remy and Git as it showed off its cleanliness, luxurious windows and doors, and nicely carved statues. Remy looked at the cathedral in awe. Then he peeked over at Git to see his reaction. Git's jaws were wide opened as his eyes were glued to the cathedral. "You should really see your face right now," Remy snickered.

"Is that place really built for church?" Git gazed upon the building, still amazed, "it looks more like a castle in some kind of fairy tale! Just look at that! It's a work of art! I can't believe that this is a cathedral. Just look at that door, those windows, and those statues!" Git exclaimed as he pointed at each things of the cathedrals that he was amazed with.

"Well, it is a cathedral," Remy said, "Let's go!" He said as he grabbed Git's hand and ran towards the cathedral. They were careful and avoided being caught by humans. They were pretty much experts now. They got safely inside the cathedral in no time.

"Wow," Remy breathed, "just look at this place!" Thankfully, there weren't any people inside, so they were able to freely roam around. Literally, everything inside Notre Dame was indescribably fancy: the stained-glass window, walls, lanterns, ceilings, and even seats.

"I think it is safer to say that this is a castle rather than a cathedral," Git said as he admired every single thing inside the cathedral. He couldn't take his eyes off at one thing for at least few minutes. Everything seemed extremely fancy, especially for rats who were born and spent majority of their lifetime in the countryside.
