Although Desiree was a little disappointed by the fact that Remy doesn't live in the colony, she was still very satisfied knowing that she got to visit the bistro everyday. In the first day, she arrived much earlier than Remy. When Remy arrived at the bistro and started to get ready for the day, he noticed his mother peeking out from outside. Remy stepped outside to greet his mother.

"Mom? What are you doing here so early?" Remy walked up to her.

"To watch my proud son working," Desiree replied, then she grabbed both of Remy's hand and said, "Remy, I just wanted to say, when I gave birth to you I was so happy and crazy about you. Right when I held you after you came to the world, I had this epiphany that you were gonna do something amazing. I needed nothing else. My life was going to be perfect with you, Emile, and your father, until the day our colony was flooded." Desiree quickly wiped her tears and continued, "I thought I was going to lose everything I had and the world when I was swept away by the water and I lost you, your brother, and your father. I was desperate to find you guys again. I often had a dream that my handsome family members would do something amazing one day, and there you are, you can cook, have your own bistro, and work peacefully with humans. I just wanted to say, I am very proud of you."

"Oh, mom," Remy and Desiree hugged each other tightly.

"I always wanted to hug my baby everyday! Now you're all grown up!" Desiree sniffed.

"Mom, don't cry. Now we found you and we're so happy too!" Remy said

Desiree withdrew. "Now, I don't want to hold you back. You're gonna succeed no matter what you do!"

"Thanks mom," Remy said and went back inside to resume working. Desiree continued to watch him.

"You know, Desiree, you should pay attention to me too," Desiree turned back. It was Django, with Emile right next to him.

"Oh, Django! When did you sneak up behind me?" Desiree asked.

"Just now. You are so nuts over our sons and not paying much attention to me." Django smirked, lifted one eyebrow, and crossed his arms. Emile tried to not laugh as he was standing next to his jealous father.

"Oh, Django, no one can help your jealousy." Desiree snickered. "But I'm glad that you never changed. I can't imagine you being a different rat."

"Anyways, have a seat." Django pulled out a chair so that Desiree can sit. Desiree kindly accepted it.

"Well, you still do have your gentleman-side." Desiree said as she sat.

"Mom, dad," Emile started as he sat, "how did you guys fall in love with each other?"

"Emile, I went over this a lot of time." It was the story when Django got rejected by one rat and Desiree went to cheer him up, met more often, became friends, then started to date, then got into a relationship, and they married.

"I just wanted to know specifically," Emile pleased.

Desiree turned to Django and said, "It never hurts to tell, he's our son." Then she turned to Emile and said, "Truth is, Emile, I was already interested in your father, even when he was interested in someone else."

Django was surprised. "Wait, you were?"

Desiree nodded and continued, "I admit, I was pretty disappointed when he was already interested in someone else, I mean, who wouldn't fall for this charming rat? But then the day he was rejected, I was confused. Though I was disappointed when he was interested in someone else, I also couldn't stand looking at him depressed and embarrassed. So, I went up to talk to him so that he can cheer up. We started to be friends for some time. Then he asked me out. I couldn't believe the day he asked me out, it was almost like a dream . . ."
