As night approached, we grew tired and decided to skip the night out and simply hang out on the beach. We had scattered Mexican blankets on the white sand and watched the pink sunset fade to a pale purple as the sun sat on the horizon of the sea. Whitney, Georgia, & Chase had left to get us some more beers leaving the four of us. I leaned back on my blanket and watched as the stars began to shine brighter in the sky. For a blissful moment, I forgot all my problems. The acoustic playlist Leesa was playing took over my thoughts and I finally closed my eyes.

"We need a fire!" Steven said interrupting my peaceful state.

"I'll go find some twigs or something" I muttered & Jesse got up as well to help me. When we were far enough from them, I broke the silence.

"What if I just stayed here... would that be so wrong?" I said softly. He looked at me, something indistinguishable in his dark brown eyes.

"You'd get bored. Every place has an expiration date..." he said flatly looking out into the horizon.

"Does that go for girls too?" I said without thinking.

He scoffed.

"I'm not like Whitney or Georgia...I-"

"No, you're not" he agreed, cutting me off.

"Okay..." I trailed off not knowing what else to say. I wanted more. I wanted him desperately and it was killing me. But I knew better than to fall into his games; or so I thought.

We collected some twigs and branches not saying anything but it was a comfortable silence. Every so often I would glance up at him and his many freckles. He was so hard to read. You could tell when he was thinking but never what was on his mind. He suddenly spoke, taking me out of my thoughts.

"Here" he said holding out a hand. I hesitantly took it and he lead me into the water. He was fixated on something in the distance as he dragged me further. We came upon a sandbar and it was then I saw what he did. There were glowing little circles scattered across the bar, going as far as my eyes could see. I gasped, realizing they were jellyfish. Their white light illuminated the dark sea. Paired with the now deep purple sky, it was truly beautiful. It was so pretty I couldn't help but laugh out of joy. Never had I seen something so amazing. I was hypnotized by these creatures. When I turned back around I realized I was pretty close to Jesse.

"Marley..." he whispered just loud enough for me to hear. I loved the way he said my name. I took a step forward, closing the space between us.

"I'll stop if you want me too..." he said trailing his fingers along my neck sending shivers down my spine. I craved his touch and he knew it. He then tugged at the bottom of my shirt with his free hand before slowly slipping it up, tracing circles on my stomach. I couldn't move even if I wanted to. His voice and his touch were keeping me put. "Just say the word" he whispered hoarsely as he turned me around, my back in his chest. I felt his  hot breath hitting my neck and he moved both his hands under my shirt now, slowly working their way up to my breasts. When they did, I couldn't help but let a moan escape from my lips. I rolled my head back to the side, our lips inches apart. Instead of kissing me, he whispers in my ear "It's time to go back". This clearly took me off guard, and we broke apart. I stuttered trying to find the right words. He did me dirty.

"Come on" he chuckled taking my hand once more and we head back with the twigs. It took me the whole walk back to process what happened.
