Someone new

I am not looking for love.
I want to be alone, for the rest of my life,
for I had nothing to gain, by being in love.
All I want to do, was, be by myself.
I don't want someone new.

But, for just a moment, I began to think,
We are strangers,
Why did you walk up to me?
I was sitting there, watching you get closer and closer to me,
Until our eyes connected.
Your eyes, so blue and beautiful.
Just for one second, I'd let my guard down,
your romance, with passion, kept slipping in.
But no, I don't want you, I don't want someone new

I asked you to stop,
But you insisted to fill my heart with words,
Knowing I just got out of a heartbreak.

I forgot how it felt, how sweet this could be
With emotion and desire, you sucked me in.
How can I be so vulnerable.
Now, I am in trouble, but, sweet, sweet, trouble,
I could never escape, your love.

You're my friend
But you're wanting more
I've listened and learned.
You tell me that you crave me,
That you need to see me now.
But I can't give that to you,
I am not ready for someone new.

Though I love when we chat, you make me smile,
The things you do, those things...,
I'm not use to having,
So I want you to know,
You're just here filling in a gap,
Because you're someone new.
