in which cleo hart and john murphy navigate earths problems together.
cleo hart was the opposite of enigmatic; she always did what was expected, and she had only ever broken that chain of expectancy twice. the first time was when she jammed her blue pen through the hand of her teacher because she had seen him making out with her mother. cleo had then immediately stated that it was an accident (which was a lie that could be seen through as clear as day by anyone) but nevertheless it still landed her in the skybox. and the second time was when she found a friend in john murphy while still on the ark.
although only seeing each other when they were allowed out of their cells, they got along like a house on fire. with cleo being naturally so straightforward john had no problem talking to her because he'd know her full opinion before he even had time to worry he'd said something wrong. another thing that made her easy to get along with was that she truly had nerves of steel and she seemed to be the only person on the ark who could tolerate and accept him.
even after landing on the ground and no longer confined by four dark walls cleo still considered herself a friend to john, although on the way to earth for a brief moment she thought she was going to die in a fiery explosion and her feelings for john changed, which opened her mind to realise that she liked him a little more than a friend would. cleo would normally have no problem telling someone her feeling of them as soon as they arised, but this was different; she had never been a friend to the person she liked and it confused her.
taking some time to sort her emotions out she tried to ignore and avoid john. at first, he didn't notice, he just thought she was too preoccupied with exploring around the camp, but then when she'd turn around and head the other way because she'd see him, he grew angry and confused, as it was not like her at all. john took it out on everyone around him, all the while cleo was in her own world- oblivious to the trouble he was causing.
after a day of distracting herself one moment and then being too distracted by her thoughts to do the thing she had just started another, cleo decided to talk to john about it- she wanted to know what he thought- and an opportunity to do so away from so many people had arrived when clarke takes bellamy, finn, and wells to look for jasper. cleo asks clarke if she can come along, and needing all the help she can get clarke agrees. before leaving cleo grabs murphy by the sleeve and drags him along with her, too shocked by her sudden presence he doesn't protest.
they hang back out of earshot from the rest of the group and there- after a fair bit of awkward small talk- cleo blurts her muddled feelings for him and changes everything between them. (you decide how murphy feels about whatever cleo says)
this plot is so bad i'm crying
however if you like it go ahead and ask for it!!
i have an idea though, instead of making it into a really long fic it could just be like a little cute one and it ends where i stopped creating it?? idk man
so i know this doesn't separate itself from other plots already out there for murphy, however, i haven't written a plot in over five months so cut me a little slack :)) the next plot will be very different/better, i promise! x
