"My shift starts in an hour so we have time for some froyo and because of leaving the house super early because of my stinking car now in custody of the fucking bank all thanks to mom" I smiled at Nico

"You could always borrow my car Nala" He gave a look at me as his hands were steady on the wheel

I shook my head "No way, you take me to work and home literally everyday and I feel bad about it"

He laughed "But I'm doing this because I want to"

It was awkward silence after that, we hit a red light and he just looked at me "Why haven't you talked about your mom? I know your dad's in another country b-"

"Not now Nico" My eyes linked with his

Nico has been taking me to work and back to my house every single day voluntarily, I never knew I'd take that offer of his but I did and I'm growing to a conclusion that I like him a lot... AS A FRIEND. He's really been there for me more than my best friend had been lately, wherever that stranger has been

Nico just nodded with a tiny smile "I'm sorry" He muttered to himself and with that tone I can feel his sorriness

We had some froyo just around the corner of the skatepark, which the skatepark was right in front of my work. So Nico spends most of his time out at the skatepark but today he's going across the bridge to film some cool videos with Aramis for Cavi Club so I'll be walking home late late late! Nico doesn't know that but I need the extra shift to get my car back so it's a little hush hush time for now

"What time are you going home?" he asked the same question when he picked me up

"9pm sir" I shut the car door but he rolled the window down

"If I make it home early I'll come and swoon you with my carriage princess" He winked with a smile, our friendship never stopped growing any further

"Yes Sir, prince charming" I waved before I entered the front door of Starbucks

He's been there for me a lot and it means a ton to me that he has been. He's a real great friend I really don't want to lose, surprising considering the fact that I hated him a few weeks ago- oh the tables have turned!

"How'd you do?" A regular at starbucks greeted me with a smile

"I am great thank you Olsen how about you?" I questioned with a big smile on my face

"Ah how many times have you been glowing lately? I'm great thanks for asking" Olsen is in his mid 50's and acts more of a father to me with his advices and every employee in this room he treats as if it were his own

I giggled "Gotta go to work"

"Hi how are you? What would you love to get from starbucks today?" I questioned

The girl laughed a bit " That emphasizing on love, I know that look. Keep him"

I was confused for a little while

"I'll get a Strawberry Açai, less ice and less water with soy milk" She glanced and handed me the complete amount I was about to ask her for

"Thank you- what" Before I could ask her about what she meant she left and once again I was left to only wonder what that meant and trust me that will stay in my mind for a very long time until it's answered

*9PM*

"You going home Nalani?" My manager for the hour questioned

I shook my head "No, not yet- picking up extra shifts for the-"
