Do You Still Love Me

Eren pulled the wrapper off the cookie and hesitated for a slight second for cracking open the cookie. He pulled the fortune from it reading it aloud. "Eren, will you marry me?" The cookie said.

"What the fuck is this?" Eren asked looking up at Levi only to see he is on one knee with a ring in hand, but his head was down. Levi was shaking almost as if he was scared of being rejected. "Levi, what the fuck is this?" Eren asked again as he stood still his legs had begun to shake. He wasn't sure what to think anymore.

Levi looked up and there were tears in his eyes. "Eren, it seems I have a lot of explaining to do, but one thing I can tell you straight out is that I have never cheated on you." Levi said taking a deep breath, I can explain everything, that is if you are willing to listen."

"Oh, thank God," Eren breathed out as he fell to his knees as they finally gave out he was at eye level with Levi. "Of course I'm willing to listen," Eren said with a sigh of relief.

"Eren, I'm sorry I lied to you about meeting with Erwin, but if I told you who I was really meeting with then you would have known something's up," Levi said.

"Who were you meeting with?" Eren asked desperately.

"I was meeting with Mikasa," Levi said finally, "I asked her to help me try and figure out how I was going to propose. After meeting with her a few times I ended up just doing my original idea," Levi admitted. She thought it was stupid at first, but with a little explanation she was easily convinced."

Eren stayed quiet finally everything made sense. The phone call, the secrets, even the lipstick, kinda. The lipstick was still a bit of a mystery but for a different reason.

"The phone call was-," Eren started but silenced himself and Levi picked up where Eren left off without missing a beat.

"Me telling her that I just wanted us to be happy and that I was finally going to propose," Levi said.

"Yeah," Eren said putting his head in his hands. "It also explains why you told her that you loved her," Eren said with a sigh. "What about the lipstick?" Eren asked, "lipstick was never really her thing," he added.

"Annie's idea apparently," Levi said, "Annie wanted to do her makeup, Mikasa didn't enjoy it, to say the least," Levi said with a light chuckle.

"She hates makeup," Eren laughed, "she was probably pissed. The things you do for love," Eren smiled.

"Yeah," Levi smiled, "anyways sorry about that when she kissed me on the cheek she forgot about the lipstick and I thought we wiped it all off. I never meant for any of this to happen, I'm really sorry Eren." Levi said grabbing his lover's hand.

Mikasa was like family to Levi, she was practically his sister. Anytime he talked to her over the phone he always told her he loved her. Anytime she greeted and or said goodbye to him she would kiss him on the cheek. These exchanges weren't strange, they were a normality to them. They were a family, and have been for a long time. Mikasa trusts Levi and knows how much he loves Eren. She is happy her brother has found happiness, and she is glad that Levi was able to help him even in his darkest hours when she couldn't.

"I feel like a dumbass," Eren mumbled, "I am so so so sorry Levi," Eren said resting his forehead on his lover's shoulder. His head popped up and he had a scared look in his eyes.

"What's wrong?" Levi asked with a concerned tone.

"I called Mikasa a whore... she's going to kill me," Eren said practically facepalming.

Levi laughed at him, "I won't tell if you don't," he chuckled.

"I'm sorry, about what I said," Eren sighed, "I didn't mean it, I was just angry," Eren apologized.

It's okay, I know, anger makes people say and do many things." After they took a few breaths Levi finally spoke up. "Eren, I'm really sorry, if I wasn't so preoccupied with trying to get everything perfect and getting over my fear of rejection I would have actually noticed that something was wrong. Instead, I was an idiot and was completely oblivious to all the pain I was causing you." Levi hugged Eren tightly. "I won't ever let that happen again, you mean too much to me," Levi said kissing Eren on the cheek gently.

"Yeah, you were being an idiot, but I was an even bigger idiot," Eren said with a regretful pout on his face. "If I would have just talked to you and asked you what was going on instead of hiding behind a mask then everything would have been so much simpler," Eren sighed.

"Why didn't you confront me about it earlier?" Levi asked now that Eren had peaked his interest with his statement.

"I was afraid to lose you," Eren said looking away from Levi's gaze. He couldn't bear to face the eyes that he loved so much with such a pitiful explanation. After taking a breath Eren continued with his reasonings. "I tried, I tried for so long to keep positive, to find another explanation for your behavior. I didn't want to doubt you, I tried so hard not to, but my thoughts kept eating at me and eating at me. No matter how many times I told myself to trust you there was still doubt." Eren said closing his eyes as he felt the tears slip down his cheeks. "I'm an asshole who can't even trust his boyfriend," Eren mumbled.

Levi slipped his hand under Eren's chin making him look up at him so he could get his point across to Eren. "Hey, it's okay to have doubts. It means you're human you can't put blind trust in someone it's just not the way we are made, especially not when all the evidence is saying not to. People get jealous, they get sad, they get angry, and they have doubts. It just means that you care enough to worry. It's okay to have doubts there is nothing wrong with that, just don't let the emotions or the doubts consume you. Next time, god forbid if there is a next time, but just come to me directly and I will tell you exactly what I am doing. Okay? Eren you need to talk to me when something like this happens, if you don't talk to me I can't make it better, and I won't know when something is wrong. So please whenever you are having doubts or next time you feel like this please please please tell me."

Eren nodded and gave Levi a smile, "I will."

"Also," Levi asked, "are you still planning on leaving me?"

"God no, of course not,"Eren said hugging Levi close and pouting.

"Wait did you pack?" Levi asked rethinking what Eren said earlier meaning he was already prepared to leave.

"I um," Eren said before shoving his face into Eren's chest. "I'm an idiot," is all he breathed out.

"Yeah but you're my idiot, and I'm yours," Levi said unwrapping his arms from Eren and getting back on his knee. "If you would wish, we can be idiots together forever," Levi said holding up the ring. "Eren Jaeger, I love you with all my heart and soul and I wish to stay by your side until the end of time, will you grant me my wish and make me the happiest man alive? Eren, will you marry me?"

"Of course I will," Eren said with a big smile as he let Levi slide on the ring. The ring was silver with a gold swirled pattern in the middle. When Levi picked it up Eren saw the ring had an inscription on the inside. "Mon tout?" He asked as the translation seemed to escape him for the moment.

"My everything," Levi said as he finished sliding the ring onto Eren's finger.
