As we went deeper into the cave the scent became stronger and stronger. The cave was practically pitch black, the only light was from the full moon. 'Uriah' I say nodding my head towards the blood that was on the wall. He nods his head and walks closer, I walk behind him and run into him when he stops abruptly. I feel him stiffen and look over him seeing a young male on the floor covered in blood. 'Oh my moon goddess'

'He's human' he says as he looks at the massive bite on the boys side. He manages to get the boy on his back and shuts his eyes in effort to hold him.

'Is it a wolf bite?' I ask.

'We need to take him to the village' he says ignoring my question, I've never seen Uriah so serious. 'Stay behind me and make sure he doesn't slip off' he orders before leaving in a slow jog. I stay behind him like he asked keeping my eyes on the injured boy but my eyes shift to the bush when I see a pair of green eyes looking back at me. I know it's Adrian, I know because whenever he's close I get this feeling that I can't explain but what worries me is that he's outside of the cave where a human was attacked and that's the reason I keep walking.

'Who do you think did it?' I ask Uriah my mind drifting back to Adrian

'It could have been anyone Esme or maybe it was an actual animal not a shapeshifter' he says. I feel a little bit of relief wash over me. Maybe he smelt the blood too and came to check it out but why could I smell him at the village. My thoughts disappear when we arrive at the village.

"What happened!" My dads barks at us. Someone needs some sleep asap. Uriah lowers his back so people could get the guy off. He's transforms back and someone gives him a nightgown to put on, they give me one too and I put it on.

"Dad I can explain later but right now we need to help this boy" Uriah says. Dad sees that he's stressed so he lets it go. Nico comes out and helps us move the guy into the medical room. "How is he still alive? He's lost so much blood!"

"He's lucky" our nurse Sheena says snapping on her gloves and starting her work. "He's very pale" she mumbles to herself. She gives him a needle with wolf blood in it, it's supposed to heal humans faster but I've never seen it because we don't get many humans coming into the village. The dense forest stops most curious adventurers from entering our home. She kicks us out so she has room to do whatever she needs to do.

"Esme go to bed. We will speak about this tomorrow" my fathers says.

"Dad I need to tell you something important, I could sm-"

"I won't tell you twice Esme" he shouts. I narrow my eyes at him and stomp off. I didn't do anything wrong, there wasn't a rule saying that we can't help a human when they are bleeding to death but instead of telling my dad that I fall asleep.

I wake up grumpy not wanting to face my dad after last night. I got Uriah in trouble too now I feel bad. I walk downstairs into the kitchen to see my mum. "Mum!" I squeal tackling her in a hug. Mum was busy training some of the packs youngest which she does every year to train them for combat. It's like a boot camp which goes for about two weeks. Dad hates to be without her for so long. She laughs and brings me into a hug kissing my head.

"Have you grown?" She asks.

"Mum" I drag out. She does this every time. "I haven't changed at all it's only been a fortnight" I whine giggling a little bit.
