Chapter 10

The door opened and Rose arrive. She looks worried but mostly angry. On me. I look at her when she closes the door and turns around.

"Albus you understand how badly I feel by saying that I don't know where you are when your parents look so desperate and sad," she says angrily and staring accusingly at me. "Albus seriously, they think you're dead! Ff you do not come down within ten minutes, I'm gonna tell them that you're up here."

I'm about to come up with an opposition, but Rose glance makes me think again.

"Do they think I'm dead?" I ask silently instead.

"Yes, they do," Rose says. " They say isn't saying it word for word, but you can hear it loud and clear in their voices, and you have to come down before they get out of here with the rest of us in an hour."

"What do you mean? Where are you going?"

"Mom and Dad managed to persuade Aunt and Uncle to call you in the Daily Prophet," Rose says, and I can clearly see the panic I feel rising in her face. "Do you realize how trouble I'm in if we go and do a report on you and then they'll find you here? Go down!"

I stand up, but it was a stupid idea. My legs give way and I fall down on my knees. The tears flow down my cheeks and chin, down on my pants.

Rose comes up to me and put an arm about me.

"You still have to talk to them sooner or later," Rose says comforting. "I suggest sooner, because firstly, I do not want to end up in trouble, and secondly, because it is better if you don't shoot up on it."

She is right. So right that I begin to feel ashamed.

"You're right Rosie," I say quietly .

She stands up and walks up to the desk. She brings up something and then I see that there are two tassels.

"I said I would pick two tassels so I could put up Lily's hair," Rose says, and then she takes the brush. "Because I needed to say something to come up, and furthermore, she have not combed her hair today, she's as desperate as James and your parents. Do you know how hard it is to see them in the condition they are in right now?"

She opens the door and walks out.

I almost begin to hyperventilate of nervousness but I manage to keep the nerves in shack. I'm wandering around the room. What should I do? What should I do?

Then I decide.

I'll go down.

Now.

I walk slowly up to the door, letting my hand rest on the handle before I push the door open. I walk quietly out in the hall. I hear a girl sobbing.

"Daddy," I hear Lily say, "Daddy will Albus come home again?"

"Yeah of course he will sweetie," dad says without sounding convinced. "But you know what my godfather told me once? He said; " Those who love us never really leave us," he said that to me because my parents were dead and he wanted to assure me that when I was most unhappy, I could always find them in my heart."

Now I hear deeper sobs. James. I continue going down the stairs, but I see no one, they have to sit in the living room, and then I have to come down completely and go a bit to the right in order to be able to see them. I have just come down the stairs when I hear James.

"I should have stopped teasing him when I had the chance," he says. "It's my fault that he left, he ran away because I'm mean, that was what he said, that I'm mean, what have I done? It's my fault!"

"No, James," mom says. "Baby it's not your fault, don't even think like that, we will find Albus."

"Your mother is right James," said Dad. "If anything, it's my fault, I have withheld things from you."

"Bloody hell Harry, we all have, not only you," Uncle Ron says. "So don't blame yourself."

"Well, I asked you to not say anything," dad says. "I asked everyone if they would keep quiet about it all, until I decided that the kids were ready to hear it. But I could swear that Albus found something, I should have known I couldn't keep it a secret for this long."

"He knows something," James say.

"Huh?" All four adults says unanimously.

"He ... uh ... I knew he was withholding something, he's been so weird ... depressed and when I asked him, I was not really sure until he confirmed it, he said he didn't want to tell me what it is that he knows, and I could not figure out what."

James is not lying. He speaks the truth. I have the newspaper piece in my hand along with my dad's old book, Great Wizarding Events of the Twentieth Century.

I seem to have frozen to the floor.

"There there Lily," I hear Rose say comforting. "Albus will come back soon."

Rose discovers her mistake as well as I, when the adult starts to sound suspicious.

"Promise nothing you can not keep, Rosie," Aunt Hermione says strict.

"No, no ... I just h-have a f-feeling ... that, um... well..."

Poor Rosie. I can't let her take it all because of me. I just can't, that's really not fair. I take a deep breath before I take two steps and walks into the living room and all eyes turned to me.
