TEMPLE

you do not get to tell me
that this body is not strong
or that it is not beautiful
enough for you. this body
is the body of a warrior.
war after war at its own
self, no one will know how
this body has crumbled
and rose again out of its
own dust, of its own blood.
you cannot take that away
from me with your words
words that are sharp; although
that is all there really is to
them. i will not let twenty six
alphabets pierce deeper than
it should, i will not allow it
to linger in my heart, in my
stomach, in the back of my
eyelids; i will throw them into
the fire and i will watch it burn
along with the rest of the words
that dare taint this divine temple.

hey, everyone! this is my take at non-stop poetry (where you do not pause while writing and you do not edit the words after). i'm quite satisfied with it although it's not the best. practice makes perfect, right?

anywaysw, thank you all for the unending support for my poetry! i've been nominated for the fiction awards for best poetry and i'm blown away! if you have the time, send some love by going over to the fiction awards and voting for the skin on our bones!

with love always,
xx
