you don't remain
in my heart anymore
but you are still locked
away in the back of my mind
appearing and then fading
just as quickly
like a special occasion
briefly, you disappear again,
but remain in my consciousness
for days to come, like the feeling of
nostalgia that lingers after
every reunion
