"1...2...3..." Martyn started counting. All the other children ran away either giggling or squealing. But not Rythian. He sat there, reading.

The kids thought he was strange because he could read at such a young age unlike the rest of them.

"14...15... uh" Martyn called out forgetting what came next

"...20" he called out, Ruthian, who was clearly fed up with him being so stupid interrupted "it's 16...17..18" he called.

"oh yeah, 19...20... ready or not here I come" he peeped his eyes open and started walking around, he noticed Rythian and walked over, curious.

"why do you ware that" he said, pointing to the piece of purple cloth over his face. Rythian looked up and frowned

"mummy told me not to take it off, that's why" he said looking back down

"it looks cool" Martyn said then skipped away looking for the other children...

Rythian continued reading until he heard a cry and looked up to see Martyn holding his knee and a crowed forming around him. Rythian put his book down and walked towards him.

"Are you ok" he asked crouching down to the boy who smiled at sight of him

"S-sips and Sjin pushed me" he said pointing to the pair snickering in the far corner. Rythian looked up and saw everyone left.

"Come with me... I can take you to Mr Owl" he said offering his hand. The minute he took his hand all the children squealed and started singing

"Martyn and Rythian sitting in a tree..."

Rythian blocked them out and the pair walked off... together
