While on his way to the Cortex. Barry was thinking about a way to ask Quinn out. He wanted to go on a date with the girl so badly. Iris had given him some advice, but he was on his own now. All his life he had been in love with Iris, a little part of him still was, but she was now with Eddie and he granted them all the luck he could give. He'd fallen in love with Quinn the moment that she had walked into the Cortex, soaking wet to the bone and insecure about these amazing powers she had, but the best part was the fact that she was funny, smart and just a giant nerd like him. 'A perfect match' Iris had said. Barry smiled at the thoughts and rounded the corner into the Cortex. He looked up and his mouth dropped open. The whole room was decorated in the style of Halloween. Skeletons hung from the ceiling, pumpkins were placed on tables and the floor, little lights were lining the wall and spider webs, including fake spiders, were draped over basically everything.
"What the holy Halloween?".
"I hope that's a positive thing" Quinn said. She and Cisco were sitting on the floor in the middle of the Cortex, a board game in between them.
"It is. Did you do this?" Barry asked, looking around in amazement.
"Yes, she did. Apparently, she went back yesterday after our movie night at Joe's and did this to the Cortex" Cisco beamed, pushing his pawn three steps further. Quinn crawled up from the floor and looked around the room before walking towards Barry. That was the moment that the speedster noticed the girl's hideous bright orange pumpkin sweater, which she had casually combined with a pair of black jeans and cherry red combat boots.
"Barry! Are you seriously making fun of me now?" Quinn exclaimed.
"No, I'm just admiring your interesting sweater" Barry replied.
"Yeah, it's fun-ish" Cisco added. The girl glared at him and sighed.
"Well, guess I'm gonna have to take all of this down and enjoy the pumpkin pie on my own".
"You made pumpkin pie?" Cisco asked, his eyes starting to grow big.
"Yea, you didn' tell us anything about a pie".
"Sort of... The first one burned to ashes, the second one was just liquid sugar, so I bought a pie at the bakery" Quinn sheepishly chuckled.
"Bravo" a voice said. Dr. Wells and Caitlin entered the Cortex together, their eyes just as big as Cisco's were. "You really have outdone yourself this time, Miss. Daniels".
"I just love Halloween" Quinn simply replied. Caitlin set down her bag and plucked a spider web from her chair before sitting down.
"Halloween is an enjoyable holiday, so I'm really impressed by your work" Dr. Wells complimented.
"She even got us pumpkin pie" Cisco noted.
"Can't say no to that" Caitlin spoke.
"I'll get the pie then. Cis, will you help me?" Quinn asked, walking towards the door.
"Is the pie that big?" Cisco questioned before standing up.
"Funny". Something started to rapidly beep and Caitlin looked at her computer.
"211s. Silent alarm just went off at Central City Museum". Quinn and Barry looked at each other for a split second before Barry speeded on his suit.
"Guess, the pie will have to wait" Quinn spoke, grabbing the keys of her bike out of Cisco's hands before running out.
When they arrived, Quinn parked her bike at the door and jumped over. The door of the museum stood wide open. Barry ran his hands over the handle.
"The metal is freezing cold". He looked at the ground, went through his knees and picked up one of the shatters and sighed. Ice.
"It's Snart" Barry said, getting back to his feet to show Quinn the shatter.
"Captain Cold" Quinn spat. They could hear Cisco sigh at the other end of the line.
"C'mon. Let's see what they stole". Barry motioned Quinn to follow him and the girl did. The museum looked like nothing had happened. They reached the main hall and stopped. In the middle of the room stood a marble stone, the glass around it was melted away and the whatever stone that should've been in there was gone. Quinn walked over and read the card in front of it.
"Gothic green Arthurian emerald. Origin: Camelot, Arthurian time period" she read out loud. "This stone is more than 1500 years old".
"Bet it's worth a billion" Barry noted.
"Yep". Footsteps bellowed through the building and the faces of Joe West and Eddie Thawne appeared in the dim light.
"Flash, Elementis. Would almost think you broke in here" Eddie laughed. Joe shot him a glare.
"It was Snart, and I'm a hundred percent sure he had help from Mick Rory" Flash said, pointing at the melted glass. "He's the one with the flame thrower".
"Put out an APB for Snart and Rory" Joe informed one of the cops next to him. "Oh, add Lisa Snart too". He turned to Barry and Quinn. "You can never be too sure".
"What did they take?" Eddie asked, looking at the empty spot.
"An old Arthurian emerald. More than 1500 years old" Quinn replied.
"Must cost a fortune".
"At least more than I get paid for serving coffee" Quinn joked. Flash and Elementis had revealed themselves to Eddie a few weeks ago. The guy was stunned. All he said to Quinn was; "I knew it. Now it makes sense why the barista at Jitters and Elementis have the same voice".
"We'll find them" Barry said to Joe and Eddie.
"Well. Better get to S.T.A.R. Labs then" Quinn added. Everybody nodded and they all went their separate ways.
"I hate the rogues" Barry muttered as Quinn opened the door for him so they could walk out.
