The next day was a little strange for Star. She was getting certain moments where she did bad things. She did it a couple times, too. The first time she pushed Marco away from her when he tried to kiss her. The next time she was casting dark spells and destroyed the backyard. The problem, though, was that she wasn't in control of it. When she did bad things she was almost unconscious but also very aware of her surroundings. Her mind wasn't straight at the moment.
"Star, I think something's wrong with you. What happened?" Marco asked softly. He was worried about Star. It was killing him to see her hating him.
"I-I don't know! I just want it to stop! I don't want this either, Marco. I feel empty when I do those things, not like myself. I, I-" Star managed to stutter out before bursting into tears. She hugged Marco tightly, crying into his sweater. He hugged her too and kissed her head.
"M-marco...I love you so much. Please don't ever leave me," Star said wiping her tears away.
"I love you too...I promise I will always love you more than anything else." Marco gently squeezed her, then he walked into the kitchen and grabbed a bag of tortilla chips. He waved them in his hand.
"You want some nachos?" He asked her. Star smiled and nodded her head. She was hungry from not eating all day.
Marco was happy to see Star smile. All he wanted was for her to stop being so paranoid about her situation.
"Mmmmm, these are so good! Just like always," she said while munching on them. She jumped down on the couch and took off her boots. She was exhausted from today. Her hair was all matted up and tangled. She yawned and Marco sat down next to her.
"Look at you, my princess from another dimension," Marco teased. Star softly punched him and cuddled underneath his arms. He was warm to her, which made her feel safe and cozy.
Star woke up with her head on Marco's chest and jumped up. She accidentally fell asleep on him midway through the good part of the movie. She tried to get up for a moment, but her mind kept wandering around. She kept looking back at the front door, then she shivered. Her head started to pound and her heartbeat grew faster. The world around her was turning all black and her head was spinning.
"M-Marco..."
Star collapsed onto the floor, which made a giant thud against the ground. Marco sat up all of a sudden and darted his eyes to the floor.
"Oh my gosh STAR ARE YOU OKAY?" Marco slid down next to her, shaking Star. Her eyes finally fluttered open, but this time she had dark purple pupils. Marco was confused about why, but soon figured it out; this wasn't Star.
Star sat up and stretched. She smirked and got up off the floor. She was no longer in control of herself, just like the day before. She looked at Marco, then spoke. Out came a different voice in a different accent than usual.
"Oh, so you must be that one karate boy that protects Star, huh? Are you her boyfriend or something?" Star, if you could even call her that, pointed at him. He blushed lightly, not really knowing what to say.
"Well yes, but why?" He said awkwardly.
Star chuckled.
"Oh really? All you look like is a little boy wearing skinny jeans, HAHA!"
She turned her head and looked around, studying the surroundings while Marco groaned.
"Where's Star?"
"Pardon?"
"Where's my girlfriend?"
"I'm afraid she had to take a small, what do you call it, break from herself?"Star grabbed her wand. She aimed it at Marco and he ducked.
"Such nice design..." She rubbed the wand and closely inspected it.
