After the fiasco at the beach, all Hermione had wanted to do was see her husband and child. However, only part of her wish came true. Sure enough, Scorpius was alive and well, and waiting for his mother to return. Draco, however had been held up at work, and should be able to make it just in time for the ball.
She was currently feeding Scorpius a bottle, when she took a glance at the clock.
"All right Scorp, good job. Mommy has to go get ready." She placed him in his crib with some toys, before walking over to her closet to get ready for the ball.

"What do you think?" Ashley twirled in her dress in front of her two cousins.
"You look ah-ma-zing!!!" they both squealed at the same time. All three cousins had gone out shopping for ball gowns after the finishing up their tanning at the beach.
Ashley twirled one more time before saying " I'm getting it.".

"What do you think, Scorp?" Hermione asked modeling her dress in front of her son. He just giggled in response, and Hermione bent down to retrieve him from his play pen.
"Mommy loves you so much," she whispered into his ear."Daddy will be here soon, don't worry little guy. In the meantime, you'll just have to hang with me.".

The ball was going to officially start any moment now, and Ashley Granger had her plan set in place. Draco Malfoy was bound to be there, it's his own hotel for goodness sakes.
She took a deep breath as she descended the marble staircase that led into the grand ball room. The ceiling was arched and had three large chandeliers hanging from it.
She straightened out her dress, making sure shelooked as sexy as possible, before lifting her eyes up to scan the room.

Then Ashley's eyes landed on her.

"Are you sure you'll be alright with him?" Hermione asked for the third time this evening.
"Yes Miss, we'll be perfectly okay. You must go downstairs, Miss, the ball has already started." Rosa, one of the hotel maids, and a close friend on the Malfoy's, said.
"I suppose you're right," Hermione sighed, before giving her son one last kiss on his forehead. "By Scorp, thanks for agreeing to watch him, Rosa," she said before heading out of the hotel suite and into the marble hallway.

It seemed like the whole ballroom held its breath as Hermione Malfoy descended the staircase. She was easily the most beautiful woman in the room, anyone could tell that much. She was wearing a backless emerald green ball gown that accentuated her hourglass figure. Every woman was staring at her in jealousy and every man was staring at her in lust.

Ashley took a deep breath, trying to fuel the rage that was building up inside her.
Let them look, they'll all be staring at me when I get Draco Malfoy to dance with me.
Ashley Granger had her entire night planned out, and she wouldn't let her cousin get in the way of that.
Let the ball begin, Ashley though with a smirk.
