Chapter Two

I wake up and it's 9:00 o'clock in the morning. I was kind of restless last night, thinking about who my true love is. Curiosity is a curse. Tinker Bell said he has a tattoo on his wrist of a lion. Quite an odd tattoo but if that's what he's into, I guess I'll go with it. I thought my true love was Daniel but apparently not. I must admit that finding out that Daniel wasn't my true love was extremely disappointing. Thinking about that situation makes me nauseous. I get up and put a new outfit on and pull myself together. By the time I'm ready to go out it's 11:20. I plan on going to Granny's today and seeing if Henry's there, I need to give him his library card. I walk down Main Street, my heels make a clicking noise and I step on the concrete. I've always loved that sound, it reminds me of control and confidence. The door jingles as I step inside. Henry isn't here. I sit down at the counter and order an Arnold Palmer. "So, Regina. Who's the new guy over there?" Ruby asks me as she hands me my Arnold Palmer. "His name is Robin Hood. I just met him yesterday. I have no idea where he came from." I reply and sip my drink. "Oh okay, he was asking for you." She smiles and walks away. I glance over at him and catch his eye. He smiles and then quickly looks out the window. Ruby walks back over towards me. "I think he has a little crush on you Regina." She says. "Oh I beg to differ." I reply a little too loudly. Everyone in the room looks at me. "Nobody in their right mind would 'have a crush' on me." I say quieter, adding air quotes. "Are you sure about that?" Ruby asks and twirls a piece of hair around her finger. I take another sip of my drink and just as I do, I hear a voice behind me. "Regina?" The person says. Robin. It startles me and I start choking. "Are you alright?" He asks. I nod and drink some more. I turn around to face him and knock my drink over. It spills onto my shirt and into my lap. "Oh, God." Ruby mutters. I sigh and close my eyes. "I'm so sorry." Robin stutters. He grabs napkins and starts handing them to me. "Are you sure you're alright?" He asks again. I stand up and place ten dollars on the counter. "I... Am fine." I mumble and start to leave Granny's. "But Regina-" he says as I walk out the door. I look at my reflection in the window of a store. I look like a mess. I hear running foot steps behind me. "Regina. I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to-" Robin starts to say. "It's okay. I'm fine!" I yell at him without turning around. "I just-" he starts again. "You just what?!" I cut him off impatiently. I turn around and look at him. "I was wondering if you wanted to take a walk around Storybrooke. I know there's probably a lot of Storybrooke you haven't seen" He finishes. "Actually, I created Storybrooke, I know more about it than you could possibly fathom." I reply. "Well, maybe you could show me around a bit. Maybe some things I haven't seen yet." He suggests. Maybe Ruby was right... He might just happen to be interested in me. I turn around and look into his eyes. He looks genuine.... "Okay. Sure. What, is this like a date?" I ask. Messing with him is the best, he gets so flustered! "No, I mean, not really. Kind of, whatever you want it to be." He stammers. Robin puts his hands into his jacket pockets and looks at the ground. I look at him with sympathy. "Well, obviously I have to go home and change. You can come with me and wait in my living room." I say. "Great. Let's go." He smiles brightly. He has a really nice smile.

Once we get back to my house I run upstairs to change. I put on a sleek, black dress with the same heels I was wearing earlier. I reapply my mascara and lip gloss. He's actually not a bad guy. Kind of cute in a sense. But, not my type. I honestly don't know what my type is.... I float down the stairs. He stares at me as I do. "Would you like a picture? It'll last longer." I sarcastically say. He looks away as I walk past him. "I was just kidding." I whisper and touch his arm. Robin looks at me slightly embarrassed. "You're house is gorgeous." He says glancing around. "Thank you. I decorated it myself." I smile. "So, have you ever been to the Toll Bridge?" I ask while giving my hair a slight flip. "The Toll Bridge? I've heard of it. Never actually been there though." Robin replies. "Well, you don't know what you're missing! Let's go there." I say and walk towards the door. He steps in front of me as I lock and close it. We walk down the path and talk about our pasts as we travel to the Toll Bridge. I smile as we do. He seems to enjoy this walk. So maybe it isn't that bad having someone interested in me. It's actually kind of nice for a change. The thing is, I'm kind of interested in him too....
