My Dad Doesn't Like You(Camren-short story)

Its been 15 days since Camila's 'grand' apology to Lauren and things have been fairly good between them. Lauren didn't ignore her as much,for some reason she didn't feel like ignoring her,after all it was their last year in school and who knows where they all might go after this. Besides,Camila had been a constant thing in her life for the past 4 years ever since she moved into the house next door.

Today was like any other day,Lauren had just come back from school. She and her father were having lunch together in their dining table which was right besides the window which overlooked the Cabello's lawn. Camila was throwing a party tonight,she and few of her friends were prepping for the party. Lauren's father was staring outside the window before he continued eating his food,he had a worried expression on his face. So Lauren asked him

"Is everything alright dad?"

He looked up at her and quickly said,

"Yes yes,everything is fine. Its just, tomorrow is a school night and that brat is throwing another party. I swear its like,she has nothing better to do than to party and mess around. You are staying away from that brat,right Lauren? That girl seems like a bad influence to me and her parents aren't any better."

It was a normal occurrence in the Jauregui household, it was no secret to Lauren that her father absolutely despised Camila. Afterall, Camila had a reputation. Also the fact that she has caused a scene in the neighborhood quite a number of times after getting drunk didn't help her. Lauren's father also had badblood with her parents because,once when Mike went over to their place to tell them about their daughter's unhealthy lifestyle. They very rudely dismissed him and told him that they can very well take care of their daughter,they don't need 'someone like him' telling them what to do  and from that day forward Mike absolutely detested the entire Cabello family.

"Relax dad,Camila isn't that bad.She and I hangout some times. Also,you won't even be home tonight. You have to leave for Texas in the evening, the party won't disturb you precious beauty sleep."

Then she chuckled. Her dad just frowned,he didn't like the idea of her daughter hanging out with the Cabello girl. But he trusted Lauren enough to know that her daughter would never do something stupid. Then he too smiled at her daughter and said,

"I'm just worried about you kiddo,just ask them to turn it down if their party is disturbing you. Its a school night and I don't want you missing school when I'm out of town. Okay?"

"Okay dad,now let's finish our food and go to your room. I'll help you pack for your trip."

It was around 6 pm when Lauren's dad left in a cab for the airport. Now an hour later Lauren was quietly sitting in her room and listening to her music while reading a book. The party next door had just started filling up,Lauren could faintly hear the sound of bass coming from Camila's house. Camila had invited her on numerous occasions, like literally every time she saw Lauren she reminded her of the party and insisted Lauren to be there. Lauren had replied with a new problem every time as to why she couldn't come to the party. Sometimes she said that she didn't have anything to wear,sometimes she claimed that her father won't allow her to go there. Deep down Lauren was actually curious to attend the party,Camila's parties were considered to be legendary in their school. Plus Lauren has never been inside her house,she's admired the beautiful architecture of their house many a times and was really curious to know how the house looked from the inside. Suddenly Lauren could feel her phone buzzing,It was Normani calling

"Hey"

"Lauren I've been at you door for the past 5 minutes and we have rung your doorbell almost 50 times. Can you please open this freaking door now?Before I kill Dinah"
