My Dad Doesn't Like You(Camren-short story)

"Oh my god dad! that was amazing,its been so long since you and I jammed like that"

Lauren huffed,she was slightly out of breath since she and her father had just been jamming to their favorite songs only seconds ago. It was their father-daughter thing,anytime any of them would be down and having a bad day the other person just randomly starts singing their favorite songs

Suddenly Lauren's phone beeped again,her father noticed his daughter smiling at the screen when she replied to whatever message she had gotten. Lately Lauren's been glued to her phone,she just keeps texting someone and she doesn't even realize the ongoing conversation that was happening before she got lost in her phone. Mike had been getting curious about his daughter's behaviour,he couldn't take it anymore he just went ahead and asked her

"Ok now young lady,you need to tell me which guy or girl's got you this giggly all the time!"

Lauren just looked up from her phone and blushed a little

"Its nothing dad..I'm just talking to a friend"

"Well,I might be out of the game for quiet some time but I know when a person's got a crush and the way you keep smiling at your phone. I'm sure something's going on"

Mike asked his daughter in a teasing manner. Now Mike was never put into a situation like this,since Lauren was always focused on her studies she never really got into a relationship. Her friends were everything to her and Mike had met all of them on numerous occasions. His daughter was his treasure and according to Mike there isn't a person who deserves her. She's too good for anyone else. His protective dad's instinct told him that,but maybe she had finally found someone and there's nothing more that Mike wants than for his daughter to be this way all the time,all cute and giggly

He was about to ask her again,when suddenly her phone rang and she excused herself.

She came back after a few minutes and seemed a bit nervous

"um..dad..Can I ask you something?"

Lauren's father curiously looked at his daughter and nodded

"So..you remember Camila? She um..I wanted to invite her over for dinner..Coz when you were gone she helped me a lot..I told you about it,like she got me dinner and everything.So its like a thank you thing. Is it ok with you?"

Usually Mike got really heated everytime they talked about Camila. Mike knows the kind of reputation that girl has so he doesn't really like her but when Lauren told him about the dinner thing,Mike didn't want anyone's favor. So maybe inviting her over won't be a bad idea. At least he can thank her for taking care of his daughter and then just never look at her cocky face again.

Suddenly Mike got curious and asked Lauren

"Okay,you can invite her..also...Is..Camila the person who's got you all giggly?"

Lauren looked at her father with wide eyes and said no in a rushed manner. A little too rushed for Mike's liking. After that she went to her room

It was around 8 p.m when the door bell for the Jauregui household rang. Lauren and Mike were patiently waiting for Camila's arrival,Lauren had specifically asked her father to wear pants and a polo t-shirt(which was new for him as his normal dinner attire consisted of shorts and his Miami heat t-shirt). She herself was dressed in a floral print dress and her hair was tied up into a loose pony.
Lauren rushed towards the door and opened it

Camila was standing at the other side of the door with a small smile on her face
Lauren quickly gave her a small hug and then fixed the collar of Camila's red blouse. Camila giggled quietly and said
"Lo, I'm gonna say this again. You're making this dinner thing feel like I'm meeting my girl's dad for the first time. You've been so nervous about it and everything. Would you just relax"
Lauren scoffed at that and said
