ahhh i really loved reading voltron x reader oneshots [specifically ones made by a certain writer i'm friends with now] at the time there weren't many good ones, so I just started writing my own. my first oneshot was a soulmate! lance x reader which blew up on quotev, so I posted it on wattpad and continued writing these self-indulgent oneshots (♡'౪'♡)

i'm gonna be real; your first piece of writing might be the worst thing you've ever seen in your life, but don't give up!! when i first started writing, i didn't even separate paragraphs!
it's helpful to read other works and see how they use commas, certain words, or other things that could improve your story. also, it's not a bad idea to ask a close friend to read what you have so far.
tbh it takes time to actual like what you write, as of right now I don't even like what i write half the time. if i think im writing ooc, then i just try to imagine said character saying the lines or the scene playing out in my mind. if it doesnt sound right then rewrite it!
think of what you want to write before you actually start, try to imagine it in your mind. if you're just starting off with motivation and no plot, you're not gonna get anywhere. tumblr has TONS of good writing plots. I usually base my own oneshots off dreams, requests, ideas from friends, or silly prompts i find.
