Alpha Valiante

Chapter 1

"Lex! Where are my Skittles?" I shout "I don't know! They're yours not mine, you should know!" My sister shouts back.

Oops, sorry. Hi I'm Madison Walcott. I live with My sister Alexa Walcott. It's just the two of us since our parents- the Alpha and Luna of our pack- died three years ago. Lexa is currently the Alpha since she's the eldest. She's twenty four and I'm twenty two.

I'm head warrior in my pack because I love whipping ass and my dad used to train us well growing up and I also got really into self defence two years ago so after awhile the was a competition held for head warrior after ours died in a rougue attack and I won. Uhm... Yeah that's all for now

After I find my skittles I go to the library upstairs and pick up the book I was reading and sit in my favourite chair drowning myself in my book.

About thirty minutes after I finish my skittles the library door opens and in walks my best friends: Tirique, Elizabeth, Alexis and Sydney. Tirique rolls his eyes upon seeing what I'm doing even though he knew I'd be doing exactly this when they arrived

"We're here,-" lexi starts but I cut her off "We're queer" I say in a high pitched voice and laugh while she gives me a blank look. "Ok I'm sorry, I just had to. Proceed"

She rolls her eyes "We're here and we're hungry. Do something about it" I stand up and roll my eyes

"You guys are always hungry. Why can't you do something about it? You know where everything is." I say walking out of the room.

"Yeah but we walked from so far away. It would be such an effort to make food now. Plus all I can do is bake and make sandwiches. You're the all rounder. So go my trusty steed and maketh food for thy master" she says dramatically

I roll my eyes. As I walk away I shout "Go make your own damn food. I'm going to shower. And when I get out I want something to eat too!" and with that I go to my room to shower.

Liz has already found her mate, the rest of us are still single pringles

A mate is a person who is supposed to love you with all their heart, soul and blah blah blah. All that gooey and romantic crap. I for one don't want a mate. My friends say I'm going to get one whether I like it or not. But I just don't want one. Neither does Ricky.

As I'm getting dressed I think about my life and how fortunate I am to have the people I do have and have everything I have.

Alexis and I have been friends since the fourth grade. She's my longest and closest friend. We're sisters and we love each to the ends of the earth.

Tirique and I met when we were sixteen. He is the only one out of all my friends who I actually remember how I met him. We were sitting in our biology class and I wanted to go the shop with a friend of mine. He was sat opposite us looking all broody and scary and my friend was afraid to speak to him so I looked at him and went "Yo dude. Yeah hi. We're going to the shop. Be right back be a dear and watch our bags? Thanks bye" and then walked out. Since that day we've been best friends. He's my brother and I'm his sister

Elizabeth I met a few months after Tirique. She was new to the school and we hit it off. Now also my sister

Sydney I met the year I was due to turn seventeen. Immediately hit it off as well.

We've all become a family and we love each other like crazy. They're here for a sleep over now.

I get downstairs and see Lexi and Lexa making fun of everyone else. I shake my head and go make popcorn. As I walk to the kitchen they all follow.

"A little privacy, some alone time. That's all I ask." I say not turning around

"Well then you shouldn't have become friends with us" Ricky says

"Yeah you brought this upon yourself" Liz says

"Ok tell me which mental institution I found you all at and I'll gladly return you all" I say smiling and turning around

"Oh please you know your life is boring without us!" Syd says

"Anyway!" Lexa cuts in "Before this gets out of hand and I have to clean up after you idiots again. How about a movie?"

"That's why I'm making popcorn" I say

"Hey Lexa" Ricky says "I heard some news around the pack about some ball that is being held here or something, what's that all about?"

We all turn to her as she responds "Yeah. There is a ball being held here. It's actually this Friday I was going to tell you guys tonight at dinner but anyway." She shrugs

"What's it all about?" Lexi asks.

"It's sort of a peace keeping ball. The Alpha of the Rosebush pack thought it would be a good idea, especially after that whole Rougue fiasco a few years ago, so they decided to keep it here because our land is fairly big" she responds

"But why don't the just keep it on the DarkThorn pack land? I mean they are the biggest pack in the world, and they have the biggest land?" Liz asks

"Do you really think Alpha Valiante would want any werewolf other than his own on his land?" I respond to her

"Yeah he's been a problem lately. They want him to come to the ball but he says he doesn't participate in such futile things and who's gonna force him?" Lexa says.

"Well whatever. This is great! A ball. You know what that means right Maddi?" Liz asks me

"I'm not wearing a-" I start but she cuts in and says "You have to wear a dress!!!!"

"I'm not wearing a dress" I deadpan

"Oh come one Maddi. You'd look so sexy in a dress, and then we can go dress shopping together" Lexi says

"No. I don't care. I'm not wearing a dress, nor am I going shopping. I'll wear a suit and I can order it online. Now leave me alone!" I say walking out of the kitchen to the lounge with my skittles and popcorn.

They come in and we start watching the movie. After a while the movie is forgotten and my friends, my sister and I all start arguing about unicorns.

As I lay in bed that night I think about the stupid ball. I wish I can skip, but unfortunately I can't. I really hate these kind of things. I'd much rather stay home, read and eat. Well I guess I have to look for a suit tomorrow, no way am I wearing a dress!
