Reader Inserts: unnecessary details

This is not a complaint about reader insert fics as a whole, but rather, the ones that give Reader inserts their bad rep.

Let's start with unnecessary details.

Please do not use the (H/c), (h/l), etc. unless it is being specifcally pointed out.

Example: Dio ran his fingers through your hair, and with a smirk said "I love your (h/c) hair... It suits you"

That is what I meant by being specifically pointed out. Your readers know what they look like, so there's no need to call it out when it's not necessary.

So please try to avoid:
(Example text)
He stared into my (e/c) eyes that sparkled brilliantly, (h/l) (h/c) flowing gently in the wind.

It would be simpler and less cluttered to just write:
He stared into my eyes, as my hair flowed gently in the wind.

As I said before, your readers know what they look like, so try not to do these unless the detail is being called to attention!
