Me and You - A Poem About Memories

Driving my car

Down the solemn, uneventful road

I pass the restaurant

The one where you and I would go

Where we first kissed

Young teenage love had soared through our veins

How stupid of us?

Since none of that emotion remains

Over the years

I have realized just how severely

I have come to hate

The place I once loved so dearly

And over the years

I have found out

That the deep love we once had

Is drained away

From both me

And you
