Flowing Through the Ages

I stared out beyond the grey clouds,
My gaze flickering on the giant drop,
That rolled down my window pane,
Bringing memories of heaven's teardrop.

As a child I loved the rains,
Overlooked and carefree was I,
Jumping into muddy pools and puddles on the streets,
That came while passing by.

As a teen I loved the rains,
It washing away the worry from my face,
The cool breeze setting a smile so broad,
Vanishing the frown from its place.

As a young woman I loved the rains,
That brought romance in the air,
Eating bhutta(corn) on the streets,
And holding hands of someone I care.

And how as a sixty year old woman,
Sitting under my roof with a cup of hot tea,
I fear to step outside of my house,
Incase I might suffer from dengue.

How I wish to become a child,
How I wish to become a teen,
How I wish to return to my young days,
To enjoyed my youth with no hindrance in between.
