Gaelle got up when her alarm rang. Excited to run after missing it for a while. She stretched out in her bed, smiling for the first time in a while. Downstairs, her mother was cooking breakfast. Gaelle looked out the window, at Shelley's house.
When she got out, the air felt so sticky against her but she couldn't complain too much. She jogged in place for a bit, watching people stumble around the arrangement Shelley had made. It was funny how just some flowers and candles could make everyone uncomfortable. She smiled as people had to move out of the way. Shelley would have laughed too. Gaelle smiled at the empty house and started her daily run.
