I woke up and saw my phone read
10:23am September 1st
"Oh shoot! I have to be at Dodger Stadium at 1pm" I said jumping out of my bed. I went to my kitchen and made myself a smoothie because I knew I wasn't going to have time to actually eat. I went to shower and tried brushing my curly hair which was difficult because I was rushing myself and finally finished brushing my hair and putting it half up and half down. I brushed my teeth and decided to wear a blue dress with black platform heels. I didn't want to wear too much makeup so I put mascara and light red lipstick. When I was done, it was exactly 11.
"I have to go!" I ran to the the door and ran out of my apartment and went to my car while not tripping. I turned on my car and started driving and arrived at Dodger Stadium at 12:25. As I was driving inside, the security near the parking booth had a confused look on his face
"Who are you and why are you here so early?" The man said
"Oh I'm here because I got the broadcasting job and one of the managers of Sportsnet LA  told me to be here at 1 to show me around" I said in excitement
"Oh yes! Jess Garcia! They told me you were coming for that reason, sorry, should've known!" the guy said
"Haha it's fine!" I said while the guy letting me in the stadium "Nice talking with you" I said with a smile. The guy told me a specific parking spot I had to go to so I wouldn't have to walk so far. I said thanks and drove to the specific parking spot and it was a good walking distance to where I'm supposed to go. I got out of my car and started walking slowly, remembering all the times I ran to go inside because I was excited to go and see a Dodger game. I opened the door and it smelled like how I remembered it, dodger dogs and a little bit of beer. "Ahhh memories" I said in a happy tone. I went and sat to the seats where I sat when I used to go to Dodger games. It gave me such a big nostalgic mood and processed how I'm finally going to work in this blue heaven. I stood up and went through the BNW Club hallway where you see pictures of past dodger magazines of old dodger players like Sandy Koufax, Pedro Guerrero, Jackie Robinson and many more. I walked out of the hallway and going to the Vin Scully Press Box I saw the lady who was supposed to share details with me.
"Hello! Thanks for coming early" she said in a happy tone
"Hey thanks for hiring me, its a pleasure to work in this beautiful stadium" I said with a big smile.
The lady started talking to me about the dress codes and little bit of home games left of this season that I'm going to be broadcasting.
"Have you been to Dodger stadium before?" She asked me
"Of course! I kind of know this stadium by heart but its been a while" i said laughing at the last part.
"Oh well you should go look around and get more familar with this stadium" she said
"Okay and thanks again for the job" I said in a happy tone.
I started walking to the escalators to go up and see how the stadium looks on the top deck. To my expectations, it looked beautiful. I decided to sit down for 30 minutes and just relax and enjoy the breath taking view of the stadium. I wasn't used to the silence because I always remember Dodger Stadium being loud during the 7th inning stretch and the screaming of 40,000 fans screaming "root root root for the Dodgers" was always my favourite part. I decided to go down and see how it feels like sitting near 3rd base because I've only sat there 3 times and when I got there, it felt so unreal. While I was minding my own business, I started seeing some of the guys going to the field and looked at the time
3:34pm
"Oh crap, I need to study my notes for the game!" I started running back to the Vin Scully press box until my dumbself bumped into someone.
"Oh my god! I'm sorry for dropping your Starbucks" I said to a guy who had his headphones around his neck, his hair was slicked back and had light blueish eyes.
"Oh it's fin... Wait is that you?" He said in shock.
"Ummm, do I know you from somewhere" I said confused. He looked familiar but I couldn't recall who it was
"It's me, Alex Verdugo!" He said
"NO FREAKING WAY! DUGIE? I THOUGHT YOU WERE COMING TO LA LATER ON?" I said in excitement
"No, I got the call earlier and now I'm here" Alex said happily.
"Wow I haven't seen you in 4 years! I only seen recent dodger news about you being in the Futures Game in Miami!" I said in shock
"It has been a long time! Wait, are you here because you finally got the Broadcasting job?" He smiled
"Yes I finally got it and that's why I'm here" I said half laughing.
"Wow what a small world! Well I have to go before Dave gets mad for being late to BP!" Alex said in a sad tone
"Hey before you go, would you like to go to Starbucks after the game? I kind of owe you one" I said laughing at the the last part.
"Fine but next time, its my treat" he said blushing
"We got a deal, Verdugo" i said smiling and I walked away to go back to the Vin Scully Press box to start my notes
