Satan: A Hush-ed Voice Ensnares
©2017, Olan L. Smith
A hush-ed voice ensnares, "Excuse me, sir."
I cock my head in recognition, a blur
I see, a vagabond his lips won't move,
He's out of sync, is he a person you've
Removed, a curs-ed soul lost and vulgar?
Have we subdued humanities' candor?
Is hope alive, are we death's chancellor?
And what is real, this man? And thus disprove,
A hushed voice ensnares―
Evict him from our realm. A mute rioter,
His vibration is not pure, "Return romancer
To lands where you belong, I disapprove."
Let him find the evil land of God's reprove.
Of scattered bones where he can't speak or slur,
A hush-ed voice ensnares.
