MAKING FRIENDS for Verity had always been hard. It was especially hard for her in a town like Derry. Upon scorching words and judgements, it was almost impossible. Friends would come and go in a matter of days, not even months. It seemed no one ever took an interest in her- no one ever tried.
That was until she moved to Derry, Maine where she'd find seven losers. Seven losers she'd end up calling her best friends. One especially. One who would hold a lingering gaze on the obscure girl. One who saw through her and one who was too afraid to admit what he felt stirring up inside his compact stomach. Verity Owens finally felt at content with her new life, despite the bullying of students at school and the harassment of Henry Bowers.
IT QUICKLY HURLED AND TWISTED INTO A NIGHTAMRE. Living that tormenting nightmare of being chased by a psychotic clown that fed on her deepest, biggest fears, was a turning point for Verity's life, but she wasn't alone. It was after her best friends, too. It was all of their lives that would take a drastic turn, but only together could they wake up from the tormenting nightmare.
