Dragging my hold-all to my bed I sigh heavily.

Why do I keep making spontaneous choices?

I shove some clothes into the bag, my purse, first aid kit and equipment. Thank god the avengers have a private jet, courtesy of stark, or it would take me a year to get through security.

I zip the bag up.

Flinging my self on the bed beside it, I close my eyes. Maybe I can catch a few winks before liftoff.
I rub my fists against my eyes and yawn.
I didn't realise how tired I was.

My door opens with a small click.

"Love?"

"Mmhm." I hum softly, my eyes still shut.

The mattress dips as Pietro sits next to me. A warm hand tucks a strand of hair behind my ear, before brushing my cheek.

"What are you doing love?"

"Sleeping." I say opening a single eye.

Pietro pouts, making me giggle.

"I mean the bag, love." He says softly, but a tinge of fear is laced in. His hand entwines with mine. "Are you leaving?"

I push myself up onto my elbows.

"Steve is going to London, to a funeral. I made him let me go with him. He needs a friend."

He raises a perfect eyebrow.

" You have to go right now?" He says sadly, like a small child.

I move into his arms, leaning against his warm body. I count our breaths together as our hearts beat in time. His arms encircle my waist as he gently presses a kiss into my temple.
A nervous tingle runs down my skin.

"I will miss you, my love

"I will miss you, my love."

I raise my head to look him in the eyes.
As my eyes meet his own electric blues, time seems to slow.

The corner of his lips lift into a lobsided smile. That Maximoff smile...It makes my breath falter. I can't imagine a world where I am not by his side. We almost missed out on this.

His eyes take in my face, memorising every feature, glowing with soft intensity.

As we close the gap between us, I feel wonderfully at home.

"Kat are you ready-oh sorry.." Steve Rogers stutters as he appears at the door.

Pietro and I break apart, like guilty schoolchildren. I giggle when I see Steve facing the other way, placing a hand on Pietro's chest.
