my skin

I can show you constellations

in my bloodshot eyes

and I really don't mind

having flaws

that I can trace

across my skin

because they remind me

I'm not hiding from anybody 

and i'm living out my dream

stars within my skin 

and oceans in my veins

it may be a flaw

but it's one that i've gained

whether through choice

or not

i've come to terms

with that pain

so you can pull me apart

and paint me now

understand the color

that's seeping out

break me down

at my roots
