the city lights

glare at me

even though

they know

what i've done 

I can see them

through my guilt

please tell me 

i'm not the only one

they fog and glare my vision

I can barely see ahead

I just hope that they tell me 

if I get too close to the edge

because although

it is dark

and they are bright

they do not illuminate

the building's edge

and maybe,

i'm taking a risk
