"Hi babe." Jade smiled soon as she got inside Althea's laboratory. Everybody in the medical facility knew that it is Althea's protocol not to disturb her for just about anything once she's inside her laboratory unless otherwise Althea herself tell them so. But of course, there's a given exception from the rule, the only person allowed to break protocol – Jade.

"Hey, you're here early. We're going to have dinner with your mom at 7 right?" Althea can't help but smile back to her lovely fiancé even in the midst of joining the melted metal parts of her new invention. Althea proposed to Jade three weeks ago at Point Imperial in the North Rim or the highest point in all of the Grand Canyon, it was around sunset when they reached the place Althea always imagined proposing to the love of her life at, and when is it more suiting to do it than in their third year anniversary right? The golden hour majestically highlighted the simple cushion cut black diamond in a white gold band ring Althea subtly raised in front of Jade while she's hugging her from behind facing the timeless view of the canyon.

"Actually, it's at 6 babe." Jade teasingly giggled as she walked towards Althea who is now pretty surprised, they only have roughly 45 mins to get ready and she's still a mess.

"Oh damn." Althea cursed as she abruptly removed her face mask, along with her gloves and protective coat. Jade instantly found her place next to her almost panic stricken Althea.

"Relax, it's not the first time you're going to meet my mom." Jade laughed, cupping both of Althea's cheeks to calm her down.

"I know, but this is the first time I'm going to meet her with you as my fiancé. Terrifies me – a lot." Althea said wiping the sweat trickling down her temples making Jade shake her head in embarrassment.

"You've just met with all the senators of the country this morning and you didn't sweat like this."

"Well maybe because they're not your mother?" Althea teased as she fixed herself in front of the mirror, making sure her clothes doesn't have burnt holes in them like the first time she met Jade's mom. It was the most embarrassing moment of her life and she dread for that to happen again – ever.

"Just please be there with me okay? And just be Althea." Jade reminded as she handed Althea her phone, wallet and keys. The three most important things Althea should never forget but always does and the only things she brings when she goes to work.

"I am, I mean I will. But if you mean Althea as a nervous wreck -" Althea still countered and Jade was left with no other options than to pull her by the neck to kiss her on the mouth so she can stop blabbing.

"Better?" Jade asked eyeing Althea with this mischievous smile.

"So much better than I asked for. Also, what took you so long from doing that?" Althea joked making Jade grunt in frustration and they both laughed.

Althea took Jade's hand the moment they got out of the building, it's not like no one knows about them, in fact people mostly women envy both of them not only for the great flowing relationship they have but also because they're both absolutely good looking and equally intelligent. Both are making their own name in each of their field of expertise. They just want to be discreet when it comes to PDA as much as possible, and it's not even because they're worried of what people might say but they choose to be discreet for themselves. You just don't know how extremely satisfying it is when they're finally alone.

"Is your mom already informed of the event?" Althea asked as Jade pulled out of the parking lot.

"No, not yet actually. So if she's going to be informed it would be the moment she sees this." Jade said waving her hand with the ring on it. Althea smiled, she still can't believe Jade said yes even before she was able to finish the brief speech she prepared, actually she didn't have the chance to start at all, because the moment Jade saw the ring in front of her she just started rambling 'yes, yes of course, yes you dummy' over and over again, more times Althea could count.
