The group rode their bikes up to Ben's house and dropped them on the front lawn. All except for Stanley, of course, who used his trusted kick-stand. Mia couldn't help but roll her eyes at the younger boy.

Running ahead of everyone else, Ben bolted into his room and began to pick up dirty clothes and underwear from his floor and desk, and shoved them into his closet. He wasn't about to be embarrassed in front of Beverly.

The rest of the gang came through the door, chatting amongst themselves.

"Yeah, and like an old guy's fucking bones!" Richie exclaimed, then fell silent along with the rest of the Losers. Ben's room was covered in newspaper articles and old documents. The walls were black and white pages, and all around was different sheets of paper with historical writing on them. "Wow" Rich gasped.

"Cool, huh?" Ben smiled, feeling proud of his work.

"No. No, nothing cool. There's nothing cool..." Richie couldn't help but widen his eyes. He was weirded out by Ben's obsession.

"Well this is cool right here," Eddie pointed to an article on the wall, "oh wait, no its not..."

"Eddie!" Mia lightly smacked Eddie in the chest, and he smiled.

"What's that?" Stan reached an arm out in between Mia and Eddie, as if to separate them unintentionally. His finger landed on an old contract-looking document.

"That? That's the charter for Derry township." Ben answered, staring at the wall.

"Nerd alert" Richie muttered under his breath, still loud enough for everyone to hear him. Richie was about as subtle as a gun.

"Actually, it's really interesting..." Ben tried to defend his research. "Derry started as a beaver trapping camp-"

"Still is, am I right, boys?" Richie interrupted, holding his hands in the air for high fives.

Eddie and Stan glared at the enthusiastic boy. Stan shook his head back and forth. While Mia, on the other hand, having a similar sense of humour to Richie, couldn't help but laugh. As she did, the sound coming from her mouth was nothing like she'd hoped. She snorted, really loud.

"Oh my god." Stan burst into laughter at Mia's snorting.

"Shut up." She giggled in response, turning cherry red in the cheeks.

"Ninety-one people signed the charter that made Derry." Ben continued, ignoring the laughs of his friends. "But later that winter, they all disappeared without a trace."

"The entire camp?" Eddie was beginning to get freaked out. His hand started to shake subconsciously. The Bowers girl reached out and squeezed the small boy's hand. He smiled up at the slightly-taller girl. Eddie was the only person in the group who was actually shorter than Mia. By shorter, he was maybe half an inch.

"There were rumours of indians..." Ben sighed, "but no sign of an attack. Everybody just thought it was a plague or something."
