What happened to virgil?

Chapter 4 - Feeding Time

Patton POV

I scooped up some mushy carrots into a plastic spoon

P- "here comes the aeroplane, choo choo!"

Logan face palmed, but virgil wouldnt open his mouth

P- "hmm yummy yummy"

Virgil POV

Patton tried the aeroplane trick and of course it didnt work

R- "try tickling him!"

P- "okay *tickles virgil*"

I tried my best but i couldn't help but laugh, but before i knew it i had mushy carrots shoved in my mouth

P- "good boy, that's it, swallow!"

I had no choice, so i swallowed, i didn't like it

Patton POV

Virgil started to cry, he dosent like carrots

P- "*puts food down* shhh aww sweetie *takes bib off and cuddles virgil* shhh"

Virgil slowly stopped crying and just layed there in my arms

L- "Would he like some crofters?"

P- "*chuckles* thank you logan but for now ill just give him milk, will you hold him until i make some warm milk? *hands virgil to logan*"

L- "*holds virgil hesitantly* s-sure, uh hey..virgil? How ya been?"

I walked to the kitchen but as soon as i started making the milk virgil started crying but i had to let logan deal with him on his own

L- "uhh uuh shhhh shhh hey dont cry, please? *bounces virgil*"

I could here virgil giggling, i put the bottle into the microwave

R- "hey! Its working, keep it up"

I walked over with the bottle to see logan smiling and bouncing virgil

P- "*takes virgil* aww thank you logan *sits down and starts feeding Virgil*"

L- "it wasnt that bad, *smirks and fixes glasses*

Roman picked up the baby food and threw it away, i smiled and stopped feeding virgil and started to pat his back

R- "this is going to be a long week"

Virgil burped and giggled

P- " maybe but who knows, this is a new experience, maybe it will be fun?"

Virgil yawned and rubbed his eyes

P- "aww i think someones sleepy "

R- "no i feel quite fine"

L- "he ment virgil"

R- "*folds arms embarrased* i knew that"

I giggled and took virgil upstairs, layed him down, and tucked him in, when he fell asleep i went down stairs  and sat on the couch

L- "youre a really good dad patton"

Logan placed his hand on my knee, i felt so happy

P- "aww thank you logan!!"

R- "how do you do it?"

P- "well...it's all about love"

Logan made a face of disgust

P- " i know logan, you hate feelings, but its true, if you show the kid you love them and you trust them, theyll love and trust you back, but not everyones good with kids, who knows what will set virgil off, but you just need to stay calm and not freak out"

Logan and roman listened with concentration

R- "so, lets say i held Virgil, and he started crying, what would i do"

P- "well, you would know if he was hungry or not because it depends on when you fed him, if you just fed him then its not that, check his diaper, if isnt wet, think when did he last sleep? If he just woke up, he might just be grumpy thats all, give him a binkie and rock him gently, but THAT might not work, he might be bored and want to play, there are many reasons why a babys crying but crying is his only way of letting you know somethings wrong or that he needs something, so you've just got to be smart and think, keep your cool"

L- "*writing notes in note pad* uh huh...i see"

P- "but remember, the key thing is love!"

Logan and roman noded in understanding, i looked at the clock, 7PM

P- "but dont worry, once the clock hits 12,only 5 more days before we get virgil back"

L- "good!"

We all settled down and watched a movie, we all got to pick one, roman picked frozen, i picked winnie the pooh and logan picked a documentary on Anne frank, 2 movies went by really fast then it was time for the documentary, 26 minutes in and roman and logan are asleep, i was about to fall asleep too until i got a text from thomas, it read

"Hey patton! Its thomas, im going to orlando tomorrow for the day and i need you with me! We leave at 6am!"

Uh oh...this is a pickle..
