Chapter 14

Zack's POV

I went into the kitchen.

"Hey Freddie".

"Hey Zack".

"Thanks for letting me sleep here tonight, I didn't feel like dealing with my brother".

"It's cool man".

I ate my breakfast and I notice Freddie not eating at all.

"Aren't you hungry"?

"No".

"How, if my calculations are correct-".

"Zack, speak normally".

"You didn't eat lunch or dinner, so you have to be hungry today".

"I'm just not, let's leave it at that".

"Okay".

Zack continued eating and Freddie watched licking his lips. Zack notice this.

"Okay, you're obviously hungry".

He looked away.

"Are you not eating on purpose"?

He didn't say anything.

"Dude, if Summer was here-".

"SHE ISN'T, SHE'S GONE"!

It was silent.

"Sorry".

"It's cool, I shouldn't have brought up, her. But seriously man, you need to eat".

"Not hungry".

"Fine, if you say you're not hungry, then you're not hungry".

That was the end of their conversation. They got up and Freddie sat back down for a moment.

"You okay".

He nodded. He got up, grabbed his bag, and waited at the door for Zack and Emma. She ran out and Zack followed her out with Freddie behind.

Tomika's POV

"Are you sure you don't wanna go to school today honey"?

"I'm sure mom".

"Okay, I'm off to work if you need me".

"Bye mom".

"Bye Tomika".

She left and I felt Summer sit on my bed.

"We gotta tell the others".

"Tomika, you can't, they'll think you're crazy".

"Not unless we show them. We get some makeup and clothes-".

"Tomika, you know I can't, I'm here for a reason and once that reason is complete-".

"You have to leave".

There was silence.

"Did you visit Mr. Finn, or Lawrence, or Zack, or, you know, Freddie"?

"Not yet".

"When you leave, I'm going to miss you Sum".

"I'm gonna miss you too Tomix".
