So, he gives me a promise ring?

But doesn't want to say 'I love you?'

I think confused as we drive to the store.

Before we left the hospital he had to pee, so I took the time and found the promise ring I wanted for him.

He has no idea I already have one picked out.

I have just enough money.

I will not let him buy it.

It won't mean anything unless I spend MY money on it.

I picked it out, because it will sting him.

But he'll also keep it in his heart..forever.

He'll wear it on his thumb.

We make it to our destination, and we walk in.

The nice man behind the counter sends me a smile and then a scowl when he sees the type of man I walked in with.

I think he was both astonished with my taste in men and jealous of the man that stood before him.

I started looking at rings to get Grayson's attention,

So he hopefully would be distracted enough.

Then I can sneak off and buy the ring.

"Grayson come look at these. I'm gonna look over there." I say walking away.

"Hey!" I whisper scream at the man behind the counter.

He gives me an odd look.

"Hey! You! I need assistance!" I whisper scream once again.

He rushes over.

"Yes m-"

I cut him off.

"Be quieter! It's a surprise."

"Do you have this?" I ask showing him this picture on my phone.

"It's cheesy I know. But it means a lot."

He nods and leads me over to a special case.

I hand him my money and snatch the ring before Grayson can see.

Slipping it into the back pocket of my jeans.

Fortunately I don't have to lie to Gray.

The store was closing.

"Gray! We have to go the store is closing!" I shout across the store.

"Okay babe, lets go." He rushes over and rests his hand on the small of my back as we walk towards the exit.

The man behind the counter stares at me and gives me a small smile.

I wink at him.

It's gonna be an exciting night..
